To button or not to button

I bought this dress about a week and a half ago from tesco, me and the mr had just popped in to get a lottery ticket but i decided to have a quick look upstairs at the clothes section and came across this beauty! The fabric has a lovely vintage feel to it that really makes the dress.

It is made from 100% cotton and was £16 you can buy in on the website here. Its really lightweight and easy to wear, i wore mine to work on a not so sunny day last week.

Now i have quite the love affair with button down dresses, i love them but for some reason the boobs try to break free! As you can see in the top picture i can fasten the dress but the buttons do gape slightly and i always have a fear that a button will pop off at the most inconvenient of times. So i wore a white cami underneath and a few of the buttons undone and i love how it looks.
The dress is lovely and light and would be great with bare legs but it wasn't the best day when i wore this so i wore black tights. The sleeves on the dress are elasticated but not tight so they stay nicely in place and there is a buttoned pocket on the chest which is a detail i really like.
If you haven't already take a look at my previous post abut tesco's true range and leave your comments they really are appreciated.
What have you been buying?
XOXO

    1. Thank you :) its annoying because I can risk buying something without trying it on first if it's buttoned as is like Russian roulette as to wether it will fit lol xx

  3. Cute! I have issues with buttons too, but usually it's with full-button-down tops and it's the buttons at the very bottom. I wish they'd make some for girls who have bigger hips/bellies, but nope! I've learned how to sew on a quick button fast :)

    1. I can use the seeing machine but I hate hand sewing! I agree they should do some different blouses/shirts for different shapes xx

  4. sew em up. It's what I do. sew the hidden edges together. No more gaping!

  5. Lovely dress! It looks so cute on you! I often have the problem with gaping buttons too but more because I'm broad-shouldered than large chested. xx
