It's that time again and this months Plus Size Outfit Day theme is "your favourite outfits from 2012".

Summer and Winter style

A lot of people I know have a summer and a winter wardrobe but i don't like to set clothes aside just for a particular season, so i do like to get things that i think can be layered up and worn during the winter but won't look out of place in the summer. When i was contacted recently by Freshwater PR who work with Curvissa about their SS13 tribal style range this dress jumped out at me, perfect and lightweight for the summer but i though i could winter it up easily too.
When i received the dress i was really pleased, its a lovely lightweight 100% cotton so it lets you breath, perfect for the summer heat. I got a size 22 which is my usual size and found the fit great with a little room, so if you are between sizes i would suggest sizing down.

This is how i would wear this in the summer, i'd like to say i'd probably be less pale but that would be a lie as you all know me and the sun aren't great friends! I kept the dress as it came, although you can remove the belt if you wanted too, and added some little black pumps. The dress is lovely and long enough to wear without tights in the summer time.

P1013387

Here is my winter look for this dress. I added some 120 denier tights from Yours, my snow boots from Primark and my New Look cardigan. I wore this out to dinner with some friends and it kept me toasty warm. I really love the print on this dress, it's so different to anything else in my wardrobe at the minute. The dress is available in sizes 14-32 here for £35.

P1013394

I have also picked out a few of my favourite bits from the site.
I love the print on this dress, i think i may need to buy it to add to my ever growing maxi dress collection. Available in sizes 14-32 here for £49.
Dress £49 Curvissa.co.uk.jpg

This dress is really cute and the skull print adds an edge to it. Available in sizes 14-32 here for £42.
Print dress Curvissa.JPG

I love the look of biker jackets with dresses although i don't think they suit me i love them on other people. I think this faux leather one is great again you can get this from size 14-32 here for £85.
Studded biker jacket £85 Curvissa.co.uk 58369472
I'm always on the look out for a nice party dress and i think this one is fab, i love the lace and the detail down the side of the dress. Available in size 14-32 here for £110, this is quite a pricey dress but i think it would last a lifetime and its a classic style that would always look good.

Evening dress Curvissa.JPG

Lastly this beautiful scalloped hem evening dress. It's available in black or ecru in sizes 14-32 here for £105.

Dress £105 Curvissa 4429841.jpg

One of the great things about Curvissa for me is the range in sizes fro a 14-32 and the range in prices, no matter what your budget you will find something on here to suit you.
Do you have separate clothes for winner and summer or is your wardrobe a big mash up like mine?

SS13 at F&F

As I'm sure you know I'm a great lover of clothing from Tesco not just for me but for the Mr too, so when i was sent the SS13 lookbooks for women's and menswear i was very excited. I  wanted to show you a few of my favourite pieces, they are as always a great price and i can't wait till they go on sale.

page_11
Dress £25
This was the piece that jumped out at my straight away. It's beautiful, the bubblegum pink colour and the cute bow detail at the front make it my favourite piece from the whole lookbook. I really hope that it will go up to my size when it's released.

page_20
Dress £30
Next is this gorgeous printed dress. It's from their limited edition range and is just screaming out to be put on and twirled in. The floral print is so vibrant against the fading purple background i really can't wait to see this in the flesh.

page_21

These were a few bits that jumped out at me, the yellow sundress will be perfect for a summer weekend. As you can see the price points are great and there aren't many places you can get dresses this cheap and get loyally points too! Since getting my print trousers for Christmas i have been finding myself drawn to them and i love the summery feel of these ones, and at £16 i won't feel as guilty if they don't come out of the wardrobe quite as often as some of the dresses.

Now onto the menswear

page_6

I know it can be hard to find a good looking suit that doesn't cost the earth. But i think this is the answer, not only is it gorgeous and a great colour but the suit comes in at £65 and the shirt and tie at £9! When my husband has been looking at suits in the past you can pay at least £65 if not more just for the jacket, so i think that price for the whole thing is really good. I have showed the suit to my husband who loves it!

page_14

I picked these because i thought they were great for the summer. I love a printed shirt on a guy and this one caught my eye.

page_16-1

Some more of the tailored collection. I really like both suits and i think they look a lot more expensive than they are. Perfect for any weddings you may have to go to over the summer, without breaking the bank.
I really love the designs and prints that Tesco are bringing us, i love how you can go and do your supermarket shop and pick yourself up a little treat at the same time.
Do you have a favourite piece?

This is not a sponsored post, i was not paid to write this all opinions are my own.

Im a lucky lady

I hope you all had a lovely time over the past few days. I had an amazing Christmas day, me and the Mr got up and had coffee and tea in bed while we opened our gifts from each other, then we packed up our other presents and the presents we had bought my mum and set off to her house.
We had a great day and i loved seeing my mums face when she opened her presents, we got her a kindle as she loves to read but doesn't have the space for lots of books. We had lots of mini party foods to eat during the day as we never have a traditional Christmas dinner and enough deserts to feed a small army!
I was very lucky on the day and got lots of really amazing presents, which i am really thankful for. I thought I'd share them with you.
Here's what i got from my lovely hubby
He got me a external hard drive for my laptop, which i really wanted as I'm a bit weird and live in fear of loosing all my stuff! I also love Simon's cat so he got my a journal and a 2103 diary. The skylanders book as he says I'm obsessed but i just like playing it, i know it's more of a kids game but when it comes to gaming i definitely have a kids brain. He also got me the Clements Ribeiro mimosa trousers and top and the floral kimono dress, when i saw them last week in the sale he offered to get them for me, which was lovely.

From my mum i got the most amazing teacup and saucer, i love it and have wanted one for ages.

The Help and Hairspray on DVD i only saw them recently on the TV and i loved them so i can't wait to watch them again.

I really love this shawl that mum got me from a vintage shop near her, and it has faux fur on it too which you all know i love!

I really love the little hat which feels lovely and fleecy and has cat ears! my mum knows me so well :) A beautiful butterfly brooch and a little tin handbag with sweets in, when I've eaten those I'm going to use it to keep my hair grips in and they always end up all over the floor.

My auntie got my a nail polish set and bumpits. Ive already used the polish and love it,it only needed 1 coat!

Lastly i want to say a big thanks to Lolly likes for my gifts they were a complete surprise. The was a piece of banana and chocolate cake too but the mr ate that (and gave it a 10 out of 10).

I got a lovely selection including a lovely pearl necklace,2 brooches, mirror, tweezers, nail files, nail polish and lip balm.

I really love this custard ream brooch which Lolly made herself its amazing :)
Here is a very quick outfit picture from the day, i wanted to wear my new clothes straight away and went for the mimosa top and trousers.

I hope you had a great day too.
What did you do for Christmas ?

Merry Christmas

I wanted to wish everyone a lovely time and i hope you all have a fantastic few days. However i know that this time of year can be especially hard for some and its not always a happy cheerful time. You can feel alone and like you have no one to talk to.
Kellie from a Big Fashionista has added a list of helpline numbers to her blog and encouraged others to do the same. So please if you are feeling alone or need to talk to someone then pick up the phone and call.  You're not alone there are people to talk to, people that care.

Lace and Love

This is an outfit i wore last week for my hubby's birthday. I think this dress has a birthday feel about and decided it needed another outing. I have already blogged about the dress before here i really love it.
So onto the outfit

P1013330

The dress is from Simply Be and is available here should you want to get your hands on it for new years. As i said in the previous post it's a great dress and very comfortable just a little on the short side for me, but this time i wore it with flats (not seen) and weirdly it didn't seems as short.
The cardigan is an old one its from the Beth Ditto range at Evans and is a size 22/24 i really love this cardigan but for some reason it doesn't get the wear that it should. I really loved the Beth Ditto range as I'm sure many of you did too, i can't remember how much i paid for this as it was a while ago but if you are after one then it does sometimes pop up on eBay.

P1013328

As it was the hubby's birthday we went for something to eat at TGI fridays but as usual i didn't get any pictures i was too busy tucking in! Its was quite chilly in the restaurant but the cardigan kept me pretty warm. I did try to get a close up of the dress and cardigan but for some reason in the pictures the dress looks burgundy but its really a lovely purple so i didn't include that.

Thankfully I'm now off work till January do you have any plans for your time off or are you unlucky and have to work?

She said beauty

This is the last she said beauty box they are stopping them now so here the last box and what came in it.

IMG_4051

First up

IMG_4052

Jing- whole leaf teabags. I got the jasmine silver needle tea and haven't tried it yet, sometimes i find these teas can be a little perfumed for my tastes. But i will give them a try because you never know until you do.

IMG_4053

This is Dr Duve anti ageing eye cream - i really hate these little sachets that they put in and for this box you get 1 sachet as a sample. The cream itself is worth £115 for the full size 30ml tub so i know I'm not going to get a lot but i'd rather they not put it in at all. Im never going to pay £115 for a eye cream!

IMG_4054

Dr Duve skin cream- i feel the same way about this sample as i do the previous one. The full size is £129 for 50ml again something i will never buy.

IMG_4055

Amie cooling mask- i have had this before and i dint like the smell or consistency but it does work well so  i will be using this again.

IMG_4056

IMG_4061

Technic tawny port nail polish - i really like this colour although it did take 3 coats to get a good finish. This is a full size polish worth £1.25 which is a really good price for a polish. Some people might think this is a bit cheap for a beauty box but i like to get things that i could actually afford to buy.

IMG_4057

Orico face oil - i really love my dhc face oil so I'm interested to see if this will stand up against it. I prefer the non scented dhc oil as this one has rosehip in it which i find has a very overpowering scent. This one had added vitamins in it i can't wait to see the results.

IMG_4058

Lastly i got the Bourjois nail varnish remover - this is a pot with a sponge in and you just dip your nail in and twist to remove the polish. I can't wait to give this a go.

What did you get in your box this month?

Eyelash knit obsession

I really do have a bit of an obsession when it comes to eyelash knits. They are so soft and snugly you can't help but touch and stroke them. I have an eyelash knit jumper which i blogged about here which i love so much but as you know i don't wear separates too often so way i really needed was a cardigan. Because the 25 i already own is just not enough!
So when i was in New Look a few weeks ago i was very happy to find an eyelash knit cardigan, unfortunately its not on the website but if you have an inspire section at your local new look you might find it there.

For me the cardigan reminds me of Pat Butcher from Eastenders but i think that's a good thing, my husband on the other hand disagrees but i love it and will continue to wear it.

P1013340

I wore the cardigan with my trusty Tesco leggings, size 20 and my Evans leopard print shirt size 22. It was really comfy and the perfect outfit for a casual day. The cardigan is a size 22 and was £26.99, it doesn't have any buttons or hooks to close it but it is big enough to wrap around myself if it gets too chilly.

P1013343

I really love this cardigan and can see it being to perfect layer for  a chilly day. The  cardigan is very comfy and it an oversized style so you can get your usual size if you want it bigger or you can size down for a more fitted look.
I'm now hunting down my next eyelash knit purchase, have you got any?
XOXO
