Day 3 - something your wearing for the first time

This necklace was a gift from my mr sometime ago but for some reason I've never got around to wearing it. I absolutely love cats and if I could I'd wear head to toe cat print with cat accessories too. So if I come across jewellery, clothes or accessories with cats on I snap them up. Just call me the crazy cat lady!
The necklace was from a little shop in Leeds called Rose & Co. I can't tell you how much it was but it was by the brand no tail and the range is called big baby. There is quite a lot of it in eBay if you fancy some.
I'm wearing a tesco dress via eBay with a asos curve strappy top underneath. Damn boobs mean I can't fasten the dress so the top is an easy fix.
Are you wearing anything for the first time today ?

Day 2- I have the most...

Amazing hubby ever! A bit soppy I know but it was the first thing that came to mind. He really is the best, he's a massive geek who's funny and sometimes a little silly and he treats me amazingly. He picks out shoes and clothes he thinks I'll like and always saves me the last chocolate ! So I'll stop gushing now and leave you with his favourite pose.
I'll be back tomorrow with fashion and my face if you've missed it lol

Day 1 blogger challenge - Your wardrobe

As you will know from my first ever post I have too many clothes for the wardrobes I have. I currently have two wardrobes but I definitely need another. I have them semi organised I have one wardrobe for dresses and playsuits and another for faux fur ( I love the stuff) cardigans and a few skirts and jumpers. It's getting so bad that I now have to hang work clothes on the outsize of my wardrobes and live in fear of walking into my dressing room and being over powered by clothes and shoes.
What's your wardrobe like, neat and minimal or bursting at the seams like me?
I also wanted to say hi to everyone that stops by and takes the time to read and follow my blog. Thank you

A busy Sunday

Sunday's for me usually involve pj's and catching up on tv but today I actually got dressed! We went to frankie & benny's for breakfast which was nice, plus you get unlimited tea for £1.50 which is a winner for me. We called into tesco so I decided go try on the dragon fly print dress from my previous post. I liked it but not enough to buy it maybe if it goes it goes into the sale, I also tried on a black and white sort of illusion dress. Now this I didn't like I really dislike how it is stitched across the chest and points out. It was £25 and was double lined so worth the money, maybe it's my proportions as I'm sure it would look nice on others just not me.
While we were in tesco my mr decided to turn super hero and tried on some of the avenges masks. I think I prefer him as Thor what do you think?
So onto my outfit I wore this dress I got from rogers and rogers at matalan last year, at the time I had to decide between the blue and red and now I wish I'd bought both.
How's your Sunday been ?

supermarket chic

I love to buy clothes from the supermarket, my favourite places to buy are asda and tesco. I love how inexpensive they can be and in most cases will offer something for us ladies over a size 18. Personally i think that tesco offers a better range of dresses, their standard collection goes up to a 22 in most styles and then there is the True collection which goes up to a size 28. I find the dresses to be a good fit for me and the fact i can buy one, or more, on my lunch break pleases me greatly but not my bank account! I love tesco dresses they are so cute and in expensive especially this one, this goes up to a 22 and is £16 its made from a jersey material so would probably fit a larger size too. I also like this one from the True collection it comes in at £14 which i think is good for this bright summery dress.
Now onto asda i mostly buy cardigans from there and have previously bought a few dresses but they seem to to stop at a 20 now in all my favourite styles. They still do larger sizes is some styles but stop at at 24 which is a little disappointing. My favourites are this leopard print day dress and this shirt dress which i think has a vintage vibe going on.

Do you enjoy a supermarket clothes shop?

Nails of the week

It's become a bit of a ritual for me to paint my nails on a lazy Saturday while the mr catches up on tv. For years I bit my nails,I only stopped about 3 years ago and it was a hard habit to break. Today I decided to do sort of a coloured manicure. I used sally hansen hard as nails as a base and top coat, I really can't recommend this enough my nail used to be weak and brittle and now are strong and smooth. Even if I'm not wearing a colour I make sure I have two coats of this on.
The polish I used was 17 from boots the pinky colour is number 27 and the blue number 46 both from the lasting fix collection. It claims 5 days lasting wear so we'll see how it lasts with all the typing I do.
Do you have any lazy weekend rituals?

Late night date night

Last night me and the mr went to see the late night showing of Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy. I've read the book sometime ago but as I have the memory of a sieve I couldn't remember much. I liked the film, I don't think it was as good as trainspotting ( i love that film) but it was worth a watch and I would watch it again in the future. Has anyone else seen it?
As it was quite late when we went I wanted a outfit that would be comfy. I decided on this dress it's from asos curve for £9 some time ago and is a size smaller than my usual. It's made from a stretch jersey material and is a basic square-ish shape. My favourite part is the giant shoulder pads it has I love them. I also reminds me of the flintstones what do you think?
I wore it with a truly ancient tesco cardigan and primark black tights.
I hope you all enjoy your weekend.

Shopping trip

On Thursday me and the mr called into meadowhall for a nosey around. I wanted to get some more headscarves and managed to find a two pack in primark for £2. I really like the headscarves from there, they are the perfect size for covering my hair without having too much left over. The ones I got are cream and black, one with hearts and the other with stripes. Then I went into new look and found the most amazing leopard print maxi in the inspire section for £22.99. I bought my usual size which fits really well. It is a little long for me but I'm only 5 4" so most things are but I'll be able to take it up with my sewing machine so it's no biggy. Lastly I called into the pound shop for some hair bits. I got a brunette dry hair shampoo, some tony and guy curl conditioner and two sets of rollers. I love the bargains you can find when you go on a unplanned shopping trip.
Have you bought anything recently?

A spotty ootd

Today I had a day off work so me and the mr went to see The Avengers, had something to eat and went for a browse around meadowhall. It has rained again for most of the day but I was pretty cosy. I wore a spotty playsuit from asos curve, now I love the playsuit but the sizing is so small. At the time I bought it I just took the tags off and into the wardrobe it went but it's very tight across the bust, I think I might be able to sort it out with a bit of DIY cutting and sewing so fingers crossed! Other than the bust it fits ok but the torso is quite short and I'm only 5 4" I think if you were any taller it would be a good idea to size up. Today I wore it with a cardigan from asda as it's a bit too chilly to have bare arms and black tights from primark. My hair needed washing but I didn't have time so on went the headscarf, it's from primark and came in a two pack for £2.
I absolutely love playsuits and must own about ten, I like how they look like dresses but you don't have to worry about flashing if it's a windy day!
How about you do you like a playsuit as much as me?

Summery showers

I don't usually pay attention to the weather outside when I'm getting ready for work, I'm inside all day and it's usually very warm in the office. So while is was raining heavily outside I decided on a very summery dress. This is from tesco and was £14 it's made from a really thin cotton so will be perfect for the warmer weather. It has a nice tie detail on the shoulders and an elasticated panel under the bust so gives you a nice shape. As it was raining today I did put a pair of tights on and a cardigan from asda. I wore my hair up in a bun and put my mini snood and bow clip over it,this was from eBay a few weeks ago. Again the pictures are from my iPhone so not amazing sorry.
Have you got your summer dresses on yet?

Lush lip scrub

I am completely in love with this stuff. It's a bubblegum lip scrub from lush, and yes it really does taste of bubblegum! The scrub is made up of sugar, flavouring and natural oils and it helps to keep your lips soft by gently getting rid of the dry bits of skin, and then leaves a nice bubblegum aftertaste. You rub some of the scrub on your lips for a minute or so and then you get to my favourite part, you lick it off.I then apply vaseline to help keep my lips soft and moisturised. It was £4.95 which I think is fairly reasonable and it does it's job well. If bubblegum isn't to your taste you can get it in mint and chocolate too.
Do you have a favourite lip product ?

A little black work dress

This is the second dress I got from simply be, I expected it to be more rigid but it is quite stretchy. Again I think I could have gone for a smaller size if they hadnt had mine on stock. It is sort of a thick jersey material so it won't crease, which is good because I don't iron! I decided to wear it with some colourful tights to make the outfit stand out a bit. The tights are from marks and spencers, they are quite small on the first wear but stretch out to your shape and become like a second skin. They are really comfy and I like how they can add a pop of colour to an outfit.
This dress doesn't photograph too well especially as im using my iphone, but trust me its gorgeous and definitely worth adding to your wardrobe if it's lacking a little black dress. I paired it with a red leopard print cardigan i got from torrid when i was in florida on holiday, not because i needed a cardigan but because i have to have my shoulders covered for work (crazy rule i know!) I thought I'd include a goofy picture too. How do you feel about colourful legs do you have any coloured tights?
XOXO

A new dress

My first ootd I'm a little nervous. I made my first ever simply be order late on Wednesday night, I used a 50% off code from twitter so I managed to get two dresses for the price of one! I ordered the bird print dress, that I'm sure is very popular and the black peplum dress. I paid for standard delivery and my dresses came on Saturday which it pretty speedy. So here is the bird print dress, I love the colours of the birds and flowers and the fact it can be tied two different ways. I liked it best tied around the front, the sizing on this is generous I got my usual size but it feels like I could have gone down a size. I teamed it with my red bird print headscarf and red nails.
Has anyone else got this dress do you love it as much as me?

It's all about the matte

I love this product, it's nail xtras matte top coat from 17 at boots. It was only a few pounds and works really well. You apply it over your chosen colour and it turns it matte, drying really quickly. I have put it over Barry M 262 bright red and I love the result. What do you think have you tried any other matte top coats?

A wardrobe full of clothes and nothing to wear...

I love clothes in particular dresses. I must own at least 45, I simply can't see one that draws my eye and not try it on. I don't think for me I could find a more perfect piece of clothing than a dress. They make me feel so confident and comfortable. Just a short first post from me as you can see from my very full wardrobe I can't get enough of dresses.
