Double Denim Delight

Last Saturday i met up with the lovely ladies Lisa and Lolly for a spot of shopping it was a great day as always and i did pick up some great bits from New Look including a great sleeveless denim shirt.
Lisa also bought the shirt too so we decided to do a joint post for you.

I got the shirt in a size 24 and the fit is perfect with a bit of room i love it so much! Its still available online  here and it was only £16.99 which i think is a great price.
I wore this on Sunday as i really wanted to wear is straight away, i kept my face simple no make up except a pale lippy and i just quickly tied my hair up. It was perfect for a quick Sunday lunch out.

I wore the shirt tucked into my H&M+ shorts which I've had since last summer and my Primark pumps.
It was a really comfy outfit and i loved how it looked in fact i think I'll just wear it every day if that's ok with you all :)

I wanted a denim shirt for ages so thank to Lisa for picking it up and drawing my attention to it.
Now head over and see how the lovely Lisa styled her shirt.

Plus Size Outfit Day

This months plus size outfit day is all about accessories, i have a few firm favourites when its comes to accessories they are brooches, shoes and lipstick!

As i knew this theme was coming up so I've been saving these gorgeous Irregular Choice to show you now. I bought them a few weeks ago after months of anticipation and i was so excited when they finally came.

I decided to mix colours so i wore the black polkadot dress which I've had a while with a cute pink butterfly brooch my mum bought me for xmas and the light blue and white polkadots from the shoes. The shoes are a size 6 i find that sometimes i need to size up with Irregular Choice and i think i did need to with these.

I decided to keep my face bare and didn't wear any make up i usually like to wear pretty bright lipstick but i didn't want to distract too much from the shoes. These shoes are so unique and cute and as soon as i opened them i fell in love.

I love how an outfit can look so different depending on what accessories you put with it and it doesn't even have to be something super expensive it can just be a little brooch to add a little something extra to an outfit.
Do you have favourite accessories?

Spotty Hearts

Trousers and me are becoming friends, I'm now the proud owner of 3 pairs and for someone that for so long owned non i think this is great!
For a long time I've lusted after a pair of trousers on Simply Be a cute spot and heart print pair but i couldn't decide and when i did i could no longer find them. I had another look today and they are here if you fancy a pair.

Then last week i was checking twitter and saw that Kirsty was selling some of her clothes and there they were i bought them pretty much straight away and then crossed my fingers that they would fit.
They came on Thursday and i was so gear to wear them that i wore them yesterday to work.

This was a pic from when i got in i wore them with flat pumps to work and my Primark cami and Tesco cardigan. The trousers are a size 24 and made from a silky material with no stretch, although these are a little big in the waist i know the 22 would have been too small when i bent over.

When i got home i added some heels and my new bag to show you, I'm in love with my new bag its a cat! I saw a similar bag on Tumblr earlier in the week and knew i had to made it mine after some searching i found this one on eBay and bought it straight away.

I love these trousers and I'm so glad i got a second chance to buy them they are really comfy and super cute.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend I'm off out shopping today with Lolly and Lisa hopefully it will just be window shopping as i have a new tattoo to save for, i won't get it done till June but as soon as i have you will be the first to see it :)

The Perfect Pin

As I'm sure you all know by now i love brooches and i have quite the collection! The lovely Sarah from Pookledo.com offered to send me something from her shop i had a look and lots of things jumped out at me but this hat pin style brooch claimed my heart.

The brooch came in a lovely secure box with one of Sarah's business postcards and a very sweet note , i met Sarah at the fat swap earlier this year and she is lovely :)

I really love this brooch because its so different to anything else i have! The heart shaped button in the centre is a really sweet touch too.

The brooch is very simple yet really beautiful, i really love handmade things because you can always see the time and effort someone has put it. I would like to say a very big thank you to Sarah for sending it to me :)

I have picked out a few pieces from Sarah's shop which i love and I'm sure you will too.

I think the colour of this brooch are really pretty and the needle felted fleecy makes it stand out. Available here.

This necklace is really simple and would look great with any outfit, available here.

There isn't another of my brooch on the site but this one is in the same style available here.
Take a look I'm sure you'll find something great too!

Mixed Pastels

This weeks OMCZ challenge is mixed pastels and I'm pretty sure i failed big time i included pastels but i don't really like them with the outfit.

I looked through my wardrobes but i couldn't find anything that would be considered pastels so i decided I'd have to make the accessories the pastel part.
Here's what i wore

I went with pastel pink in the ring and sunglasses and then and pastel pink and mint in the shoes. I like the accessories and i like the outfit but together I'm just not feeling it! i think the short and tee would look so much better with some flat pumps.

The tee and shorts and both from ASOS Curve, the t-shirt is available here for £12 but the shorts proved very popular and have sold out at the minute. I got the tee in a 22 and the fit it good i usually size up but i didn't need to with this and it still has room in it. The shorts are a 24 and have a little room but not much i would suggest to size up with these if they do come back in stock.

I don't often have so much leg out without having black or coloured tights on but I'm actually loving my legs out like this! The camera seems to have picked up my bra its wasn't quite so obvious in real life!
I tried to get a close up of the crochet detail of the shorts and the shoes at the same time and ended up with a bit of an odd picture but i like it. You can also see the squirrel on the pocket better in this picture.

Scarlett & Jo

I was contacted last week and asked if i wanted to review a piece from the new Scarlett & Jo range for Evans which is due in store in the next few weeks. I wasn't told what the piece would be other than it was a top/tunic and was shown a picture of a piece in a similar shape. I couldn't wait for it to come not knowing what it was made it more exciting.
It arrived at the weekend and when i first saw the print i was unsure it was very me but then i put it on and i fell in love!

I was sent a size 24 which is a perfect fit for me, the tunic is made from a thin very soft jersey material which will be great for the summer.
I decided to take this opportunity to get my pins out, and i love how the tunic looks with nude legs.
The tunic has a dipped hem so at the back it covers my bum and goes down to just above my knee but at the front is mid thigh.

The tunic has a really lovely print which is quite eye catching so i kept the rest simple with some black kitten heels and a leopard hair scarf. Although this isn't something i would have picked myself I'm so glad i got the chance to try it as i really have fallen for it.

You could wear this tunic with leggings or jeans if you don't want to get your legs out or if it's a bit of a blustery day out. I actually put my denim shorts on underneath just in case but you couldn't seen them unless i lifted the tunic up.

I can see this getting a lot of wear over the warmer months i think it would make the perfect outfit for a day in the park or for a fun day with friends.
Have you taken a look at the Scarlett & Jo range do you have any favourite pieces? I'm in love with  this tunic !

A Dress Is For Life Turns One!

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who takes the time to read, follow or comment on my blog it means so much!
I can't believe its been a year but its been so much fun i have had the opportunity to work with some amazing brands and some amazing people and i hope that will continue.
The best things about starting the blog has to be the people that i have met because of it, if that's online or in real life your all great and i love you :)
I was hoping to do a giveaway but being busy with work and other things i haven't had time to get everything together but it will be up in a few weeks.
So again thank you so much for making it a great year and here's to a fabulous second year!

Another Tesco Maxi

I popped into Tesco a few weeks ago and while i was browsing i spotted this black maxi in the True section. I have been wanting a plain black maxi for a while but struggled to find one that didn't have embellishments or that didn't cost the earth.
I was really pleased when i came across this one in Tesco for £18.

I got the dress in a 22 and this fit is perfect, the dress itself needs to be taken up as its about 3 inches too long for me but I'm only 5 4'' so that's often the case with maxi dresses.

My local Tesco only had black but you can also get this dress online in purple both are in sizes 16-28 for £18. I find the prices at Tesco really good and i love how you can get free delivery to store so i can pick my items up on the way to work and try them on straight away.

I love maxi dresses and this in yet another to add to my collection! Now the sun just needs to come out to play too.
Have you got yourself any supermarket bargain recently ?
I'm at work today so i plan on having a very lazy Sunday but i hope your all enjoying the weekend whatever you have planned.

Gotta love a sale

A few weeks ago i popped into Evans for a nosey and spotted a few pieces from the Clements Ribeiro collection in the sale. I had tried this dress on several times but wasn't sure if it was very me i love the hints of lace but i don't have much in my wardrobe in this pattern or colour.

I tried it on again and decided for the £20 price tag I'd give it a go. I went for a size 24 as i found i needed to size up in most of the collection. The dress is really silky to the touch and come to my knees, i love the hint of lace on the sleeves and the chest.

I really like this dress although its very different from my usual choices i think i would get too warm in this dress during the summer as i found it pretty warm to wear and the weather hasn't been that great.

I wore this dress with tights and some Irregular Choice heels as i think the dress speaks for itself so you don't need many accessories.

I cannot wait for the next collection to come out i have seen some pictures of the bloggers that are modelling for the campaign and they look great. I already have a few things on my wish list!

This month theme was "a day at the races" i decided to do something a little different as the races aren't really my thing so i thought i would pay homage to the horses.
It was a great excuse to get out my Simply Be playsuit which i bought a while ago but was yet to wear.

The playsuit is Ruby Rocks and is still available on the Simply Be Website for £55 i got mine while a sale was on so i think in the end i paid about £40 for it.

I sized up to a 24 but i didn't need to the playsuit is made from a thick stretch jersey so your usual size should be fine. I love the horse print and the relaxed fit of it and i can't wait till i can wear it out in the sun.

The playsuit also has pockets which i love, and you can just step into it so no fiddly zips or buttons to worry about. I wore this with black tights and some Primark pumps for a relaxed look. I really love this playsuit its super comfy and who doesn't love a good print?!

A Chilly Spring

The weather in the UK has been awful these past few months and when we all thought it was time to pack away out winter coats along comes more snow and freezing winds!
I have a lot of faux fur coats but only one of the non furry kind so when i was contacted by Dan from Be Inspired to ask if i wanted to try a coat i jumped at the chance.
I decided to go with a beautiful black and purple double breasted coat, the description said animal print, but its quite a muted animal print so its not as in your face.

I chose this coat because i loved the colours and it was advertised as a soft touch wool mix so i hoped it would be soft and snuggly and i wasn't disappointed!
This coat is so soft its lovely to feel and had a nice black lining. It is perfect for all the rubbish weather we seem to be having at the minute.

This coat is a great length and comes to mid thigh on me, it has button fastening to the front and it also came with a black belt if you want to give it a more defined shape. I would never usually belt a coat but i really like how this one looks belted.

I was sent this coat in a size 24 i asked for a size above my usual because i always have a problem with fastening coats around my boobs but this one had loads of room and i really didn't need to size up. The arms on the coat were a little long for me but this may have been due to me sizing up as well as the fact i seem to have tiny arms!

You can get this coat here for £18.99 that's an amazing price if you ask me I've seen coats a lot more expensive than this and much lower quality. This coat is defiantly worth its money and more, its really well made and you can tell it will last a good few winters or if the weather carries on maybe summers too.

I wore the dress with my asos body con you saw in Mondays post, and black tights and heels. I also added the little cat brooch which my hubby bought me a few years ago.
I had never heard of Be Inspired before they contacted me but I'm so glad they did because i know where I'll be looking the next time a need a cute coat or jacket.
Here are a few of my favourites from the site

I love this spot print coat this one only goes up to a 20 but might fit a 22/24 depending on if you wanted to close it and only £19.99.

This coat is really classic and i love the faux fur collar again £19.99 and up to a size 24.

My final pick is this coat which is £24.99 in sizes 24-28.
Take a look at the website I'm sure you'll find something that you like and its free Uk delivery too.
Have to have to keep your winter coat out?
