Tesco plus size panel

I was recently contacted by Tesco, after speaking to the lovely Kim at plus north, about getting involved in their plus size panel. I was really excited about this opportunity, as you all know i love my supermarket bargains and often pop in store on my lunch break to get my fix!
The panel will help Tesco to improve the plus size range, they are really keen to find out what we want and need in a clothing range. Tesco sell their standard range up to a 22,  they also have Ann Harvey in sizes 16-32 and the True range in sizes 16-28. It is the True range that they are looking to change and re vamp so that it can become a great place for plus size fashion.
As you know I've bought a few dress from True before and i really liked them so i was excited to see what A/W 12 would bring.
Tesco have been kind enough to share some of their new pieces which are due to arrive on the website early next week and they would love our feedback on them.
Coat £30
Top £14
Jeans £14
Stud Jacket £16
Jeans £14
Tunic £14
Jeans £14
Jacket £22
Top £12
Jeans £14
Tunic £12
Jeans £14
Dress £18
I think i saved the best for last here i absolute adore this dress it seems like it will hug your curves in all the right ways !
I also love the coloured jeans especially the purple ones, now as you all know I'm really not a separates girl but i might just have to change that for these, i really like them and for £14 it'd be rude not to try. The studded jacket is great too and i think it would work dressed up or down.
I like the things I'm seeing from this collection especially the use of colours, i'd love to see the last dress in more colours too, and a few polkadots thrown in too please :) The price points are great too but i have always found that from Tesco.
The only negatives i have is that i would like to see a larger model just so that i could get a better idea of how the clothes fit on a lager frame. I'm not a huge fan on tunics so these don't appeal to me personally but they need to have something for everyone so it is nice to see a mix of tops, jeans, tunics and dresses, every need is catered for.
So now Tesco needs our help, they would like to know what you think of the collection so please comment below whether it's good or bad. They won't know what to change or what to buy if we don't tell them.
So Tesco would like to know,

  • What you think to the range? Do you have any favourites?
  • Would seeing these pieces make you want to look at Tesco for clothing either in store on online?
  • Do you feel this is more trendy that previous ranges or other plus size collections?
Im really excited about working with Tesco and can't wait to see the full collection in the flesh when it launches, please comment below and keep your eyes peeled here for a Tesco giveaway soon.
XOXO

  1. i'm still not massively impressed with it but there could be better stuff to come, i don't know how well it will actually fit on plus size bodies and if its cut well (the model is too small too tell), it all looks a little old to me but maybe i am outside the target audience.

    1. thanks for the comments i agree the model could be bigger to give a better idea of fit. i think that dress will look great on you as it looks quite figure hugging and you have a great one to show off! xx

  2. I really like the look of the skinny jeans and on the whole the range looks a lot 'younger' than usual which is good. I shall reserve final judgement until I've had a chance to try the items but I do quite like what I see.

  3. I personally don't think the range is very exciting. It's still too basic and boring. I do love seeing a little more colour with the teals and wines; and some of the detailing is nice- like the lace arms on the dress you like. The tunic above is also pretty, but I think there is far more potential in the range, but they played it rather safe. I guess it's a step in the right direction, though xx

    1. I love the coloured jeans and the dress I think with more time the range will get stronger what sort of things would you like to see? Is it shapes or prints ? Xx

  4. It's a little too mumsy for me, but definately a step in the right direction! The pricing is fab too! I hate spending the £30+ in evans etc just for a top.

  5. I think this is the best collection yet, I've been a fan of Tesco clothing for years but always the main lines rather than the True range (although i do have a few bits) because it was always frumpy and seemed aimed at a much older crowd (i'm 31 now)
I'm in love the the jacket, and i'm really curious to see how that would look on me.
I also like the colour of the Skinny jeans but i struggle with jeans so again i'm curious to see how they would fit, and i love the black dress, think that would work well for a posh christmas do.

looking at the sneak preview i can't wait to see what my local store gets in. i'm not a massive fan of online shopping as i like to try things on and feel the fabrics first, but it would make me look online, i wasn't aware of the other ranges they do online till last week (behind the times i know!)

It seems like a step in the right direction as far as being fashionable, i'd really like to see the clothes on a "real" woman rather than a model and someone who is more my size (18 - 24 depending on the Lycra content!)

As you have mentioned the model shown is at the bottom end of the size scale if she is even a true plus size at all.

saying all of the above I will be looking out for these when they are launched in store.

My local tesco's is huge but they only seem to have half an Aisle if True range and it's tucked away at the far end of a the huge clothing department (2/3 of a mezzanine level) However if they don't arrive in store i don't think i would be rushing to the website to order them.

Wow this comment is far longer than i intended!

    1. I feel the same about the jacket I really want to see it on and the dress will be the first in my basket ! I agree about the model a larger model would make me feel more confident in ordering online. I will be keeping an eye out at my tesco for the new range. My tesco has a good clothes section and the true range is next to the till so quite prominent xx

  6. I agree deffo some polka dots and maybe some more dresses that will flatter a larger ladies shape. Although that tunic dress is quite nice it not gonna suit those that are large busted and quite heavy too. I have this problem a lot - if a dress does not have a waist I end up looking like a sack of potato's haha.

http://razzledazzleandrocknroll.blogspot.co.uk/ I am trying to get my followers up at the moment so if you like what you see I will greatly appreciate your follow :). If you already follow I apologise.

  7. Hmm, not all that impressed, it's not very fashionable really. Also, I'm wary of plus size clothes (or any clothes) that have to stretch so the tunics and that black dress are not doing it for me. I think I'd like to see something a bit more up to date and maybe taking a few more risks, none of this makes me want to run out and buy it. The price is very good but I think when you have a cheap line you can make the clothes a bit more 'disposable' so try the latest trends and not worry about them still being in fashion in 2 years.

  8. While it's not terrible none of it excites me and makes me want to rush out and buy it. I can't stand tunics, particularly ones with no stretch, so they're not doing it for me. I would like to see some more fashionable, up to date stuff. I agree it's looking mumsy and dull.

If it wants to be a basics line then that's cool but I don't think plus size fashion needs any more printed t shirts. If it was a line of those skinny jeans, jackets (I do like the studded jacket and the coat), leggings and basic dresses with some shirts and plain racer back tops etc it would be really good. The prices in Tesco are brilliant I'll give them that but this line is a bit too 'hiding the fat in dark colours and shapeless silhouettes' for my taste.

    Finally, what's with the shoes?!

  9. I like it - it's not massively exciting, but it's a definite improvement and anyone addressing a gap in the plus size market is worth taking a look at. I like the coloured jeans, the parka and the last dress. I'm interested to see more!

  10. Hi sweet, sorry its taken so long to get back to you! I LOVE the coloured jeans. Its so hard to find plus sized ones at reasonable prices. Like you, I also love the last dress. I would totally buy it. But overall I think the range looks fabulous. Congrats on getting to work with them on it, lucky lady.xx

  11. There's nothing that jumps out for me from the new pieces of the collection. It's nothing that would make me want to go and look at the collection because i'd seen the pieces here.

I want to see some girlie floral prints and more dresses because that's what I love. I'd also love to see some skirts because I can never find any nice ones.

I've never really looked at the True section before so I can't compare it to any of the previous ranges Tesco has done. I think it could look better than the Evans clothing range though.

  12. The range looks quite boring but maybe I'm just out of fashion.

Also, I'd be interested to know what size the model is as I'm a size 26 and I'd like to see how the clothes looks on a larger sized frame.

    1. I completely agree the model is too small to represent the clothes I want to see how it fall in someone with a larger chest/bum or stomach I can't wait till it goes into stores then I can try it on xx

  13. I love the stud jacket and the teal jeans. I have a real thing about teal at the moment. I think it's because we had such a long wait for summer, and I started thinking about Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas and all the lovely jewel colours they conjure up! x x
