Day 16 - A customised item

Last year i bought a sewing machine on a whim. I wanted to wear really cool patterned dresses and these are not always easy to get in larger sizes. So my hubby being the amazing man he is designed me a dress pattern using a dress i'd bought from tesco and liked the style of. As he had previously made some clubbing clothes he made me my first dress. After he gave me a few tips and instructions i was off making my own. I couldn't believe that i actually made my first dress especially as the last time i used a sewing machine in school i was soo bad! I first made the dress out of curtain liner as its cheap and good to practice on as you can see your stitches clearly. i made the blue and white flowered dress first and the red with and white stars second. I haven't made many since as I've been quite busy trying to get y huge reading pile down. But i hope to make many more in the future, i know they are not 100% yet but i feel happy with them and they fit so yet!
Today i wore the dress my hubby made me with my tesco cardigan and ring from dorothy perkins.
what have your been customizing?
XOXO
this is the star print one i made
