Lush lippy

I don't usually post beauty or make up mostly because i tend to be quite behind the times when it comes to what the kids are wearing! I had seen a few ladies blog about the lush make up range and decided to try it for myself when i passed a lush store recently. I went straight up to the make up section and was drawn to this red, an assistant came over and gave me a test wand to try it out.

Its called decisive which i most defiantly am not! its a lovely red colour and looks great on your lips. The assistant in the shops said you can use it as eyeliner or on your cheeks, i personally wouldn't use this as eyeliner because i'd look like i had an infection! i did try it on my cheeks but it looked crazy the colour is so strong that even with a tiny amount i looked like a rosy cheeked doll. Its safe to say that i will be using the the way i had originally intended on my lips where it looks fab.
For an idea of size

The wand
This was £14.50 which is quite pricey so i don't think i would be buying more than one, but the colour is very vibrant and it did stay on well when i wore it. A little of this seems to go a long way so i think i might last a while. Now onto what it looks like on lips
On my hand

Close up of my lips

I was ready to go out in the sun hence the
sunglasses.

I really do like the colour of this and i did see a nice pink and purple while i was in the store but I'm not sure if i will be going back as £29 for two lipsticks its quite a lot and i could buy a dress for that. I would recommend the lipstick if you have some spare cash or want to get someone a gift, the colour is fab and it seems to have decent staying power.
I hope you enjoyed something a little different from me.
Do you have anything from the lush make up range?

Yet another playsuit

I wore this playsuit to out to visit the farm recently. I love animals and really enjoy places like this where you get to see the animals close up, my favourites are the goats and pigs. I had a lovely day out and as it was warm so i just put my hair up in a bun popped my shades on and my playsuit and off we went.

I wore tights with this because the playsuit is pretty short and it didn't want it to ride up and flash cheek. The playsuit is from tesco a few months ago it's a size 22 and was £16. I also have it in blue with swallow print which i blogged about here. It was very comfy to wear perfect for a day wandering around the farm. The sunglasses were from dorothy perkins a long time ago, the shoes and bag are from primark.
Here are a few pictures i took around the farm

Birds yard

Firstly how have i never been to or heard of this wondrous place before?! From the second i walked in i was in love it was like walking into Ariels cave in the little mermaid, so many treasures under one roof. I literally swooned when i walked in and the first thing i spotted was the smeg fridge it the kitchen area of the marvellous tea room on the ground floor. It is a vintage lovers dream, old fashioned sweets to buy, teacups, teapots and lots of other vintage pieces to buy. Heres a few pictures i took while i waited for my delicious toasted peanut butter and nutella sandwich to come.

How cute are these menus made from old books?!

The sandwich in question check out the sparkle!

how cute is the table set up?!

The main reason that i had gone to this magnificent place was to see the lovely Chloe from lifes big canvas and have a nosey around her shop which is great! Chloe sells amazing jewellery and there is something for everyone and every taste. I ended up buying a few things and the hubby bought me a present too.
Firstly here are a few pictures from Chloe's shop

Angie from the marvellous tea room and the lovely Chloe

Lots of amazing things here

And here what i bought while i was there
A little fox bag
Dinosaur brooch

Chloe put this in as a free gift which was so nice of her

I got 2 new glasses chains a flamingo and another cat
This was my present from my hubby its the cookie monster
with his own jar a cookies
On the same floor as Chloe is Aurora Vintage which has some amazing pieces. They have both clothes and accessories, there was a number of bags that caught my attention! The shop is very well laid out with plenty of space to move about and some really creative ways of hanging stock. Here is the link to their ebay store and Facebook page.
There is also dora's gift box which sell some amazing toys including paper dress up dolls which brought back some lovely memories for me as my nan got me a few of these when i was younger. I think they make great gifts for young children and i really loved mine.
Now we go up another level where you can find blonde fury hair if your 'do is in need of some attention. As you know i have the hairdresser fear but i was at at ease straight away talking to Chloe she was very friendly and i got chance to see a cut she had just done and i must say it looked lovely.
Then there is the birds art room run by lovely cray fish who is an amazing artist and prints her designs onto bags, tshirts etc. There was a lovely aztec cat design that i spotted straight away, which I'm sure will be sold out in no time.
And finally there is bird shell a great place for more vintage, there was so many amazing pieces in there. There was also some hand made accessories including a ring made from an unused typewriter key. I spotted this while i was there and bought it straight away i love it. I mean who doesn't love a good bit of headwear?! It was made by Melissa Dawson who's shop can be found here

I really thought Birds Yard was an amazing place full of great people, shops and an amazing atmosphere. If you are in leeds then make sure you visit i assure you it is most defiantly worth the trip! Let me know if any of you go and what you think

I heart playsuits

As you all know i love playsuits i can't get enough of them. I have always bought them from asos and didn't think i was going to find many cute printed plus size ones elsewhere but then i spotted this beauty on Simply Be and i fell in love. It was £40 at the time and other things always seemed to jump in my basket before this, then a few weeks ago me and the mr went to doncaster to the Simply Be store and there it was in a size 22 at £16!! I tried it on, it fitted and we made our way to the till.
The playsuit is still in stock on simply be and reduced to £16 now too, its here if you fancy a bargain. The playsuits on simply be are all gorgeous and i have my eye on a few others I'm so glad they do them as not many plus size stores seem to sell playsuits which is a shame they are the perfect addition to any wardrobe.

I wore the playsuit with black tights and my lifes big canvas necklace and glasses chain. It was super comfy and lightweight. The shorts are like culottes so have plenty of room and don't ride up too far when you sit down. The playsuit has buttons all the way down the front so its easy to get on and off, you don't have to do the sideways bend and shuffle that some playsuits require! the buttons are fastened with an elastic loop rather than a traditional button fastening and i really like this. It also has a belt at the back so you can tie it to get a more defined shape.

The mr says i look mischievous here

I really like this playsuit and wearing it makes me want more, here are some of the playsuits on Simply Be that i need in my wardrobe.
Printed playsuit £40

Aztec print £26

Bird print £35

How do you feel about playsuits are you a lover like me ?

Worth the wait

I first spotted this dress a month or so ago on very and decided i needed to have it but i was going through my shopping ban at the time so i couldn't buy it. This didn't stop me stalking it on the website then last week i saw it was reduced from £25 to £12.50 and i knew it was now or never so i quickly added it to my cart and took up residence by the letter box waiting for it!
I love he diner print it has a very 50's america feel to it
I didn't have to wait long i ordered it Friday afternoon and by lunch time Saturday it was here, which was super quick delivery. I got the dress in a size 22 as the 24 was sold out, i was a bit unsure about the fit and thought it might be a bit tight but the dress has an elasticised back panel so i didn't need to worry. The straps are adjustable which is good but they are really thin and as i don't own a strapless bra i had to wear a cardigan. The dress is also lined and has pockets!! Although i never use pockets i like to have them.
I wore this dress to the cinema to see TED and then to visit my nan and mum later in the day. It was very comfortable and easy to wear and the print is just gorgeous isn't it?!

Something was reflecting on my lense
i dont have a misty eye

I really like the neckline on the dress so i thought i'd show
you a close up
I wore this dress with primark flats and headscarf and the cardigan is new look inspire years ago. The bag is irregular choice I've had it a while it was last seen in this post. I'd recommend this dress to anyone its really lovely, i've had a look on the website but they only have size 8 and 10 left at £15 (if you are then i'd snap it up it won't be there for long)
I know a few bloggers have got this dress and the lovely Elena from frivolous mrs d has blogged about it too so go and see how she styled it.
I hope you've all had a lovely weekend have you been up to much?
XOXO

To button or not to button

I bought this dress about a week and a half ago from tesco, me and the mr had just popped in to get a lottery ticket but i decided to have a quick look upstairs at the clothes section and came across this beauty! The fabric has a lovely vintage feel to it that really makes the dress.

It is made from 100% cotton and was £16 you can buy in on the website here. Its really lightweight and easy to wear, i wore mine to work on a not so sunny day last week.

Now i have quite the love affair with button down dresses, i love them but for some reason the boobs try to break free! As you can see in the top picture i can fasten the dress but the buttons do gape slightly and i always have a fear that a button will pop off at the most inconvenient of times. So i wore a white cami underneath and a few of the buttons undone and i love how it looks.
The dress is lovely and light and would be great with bare legs but it wasn't the best day when i wore this so i wore black tights. The sleeves on the dress are elasticated but not tight so they stay nicely in place and there is a buttoned pocket on the chest which is a detail i really like.
If you haven't already take a look at my previous post abut tesco's true range and leave your comments they really are appreciated.
What have you been buying?
XOXO
