It's mustard love

Today's outfit was one i wore out to lunch with the hubby, both the dress and cardigan are new and i couldn't wait to wear them.

Dress new look, Cardigan matalan, Brooch handmade

The dress is from New look i got it about 2 months ago but hadn't worn it yet. It was £22.99 and a size 22, the fit of this dress is perfect! It is knee length and is lined with the bird print chiffon over the top, it has a nice floaty effect and an elasticised waist with a belt too. The dress is sleeveless so great for the summer but with my cosy cardigan over the top it still works with the cooler weather.

I wore my over sized bow headband to keep my hair in place, and my new Matalan cardigan. I really love this cardigan, i wanted a mustard cardigan and was happy when i spotted this is Matalan in was the last one left and a size 20 so it was fate!

The cardigan was £20 and a size 20 it fits me perfectly and i can fasten it all the way up too. It's quite a chunky knit so it keeps you really tasty and warm.

I really love these two pieces together and i can see me getting a lot more wear out of the cardigan over the next few months and then the dress again in the summer too.
Have you bought anything recently ?

Wise owl

You may remember back in September i bought myself a new hat but not any old hat a fax fur owl hat complete with beak! I was very pleased with my purchase but haven't had chance to wear it up till now. It was very chilly and i was having a bad hair day so it seemed like a good idea to wear a hat. But being a bit animal obsessed like i am i decided to go for the owl hat.

The hat was from Primark and only £6 ! it's a good hat for the winter it has a great soft fleece inside and it keeps your head so warm. I wore mine out to go and have a look around the retail park it was pretty chilly on the day but my hat kept me nice and toasty.

The cardigan is an old one from Primark size 20, the dress is from the Rogers and Rogers collection at  Matalan last year and i think it was £18 it's a really nice dress it has 3/4 sleeves and is made from a nice jersey material, this is a 22. The leggings are from Tesco and a size 20. This was a nice casual outfit for a quick trip around the shops.

What do you think about my attempt to become a owl do you think the other owls would accept me?!
Sorry about the grainy pictures these were taken on my mobile rather than the proper camera and it was quite gloomy outside.
Heres what i bought while was out all from Matalan
Mustard cardigan £20, cat bag £8
Nail kit £3

Do you have any animal head hats?

November beauty box

If you read my review of my October she said beauty box you will know i was quite unimpressed by that box. I'm pleased to say this box is back to how it had previously been and this month I'm very impressed with my box.
So what did i get in this months box?

Redken smooth lock shampoo and conditioner

For this i got 2 sachets one for shampoo and one for conditioner. In a previous box i got a sample of the  colour extend radiant 10 and was really happy with that. I'm happy with these although you will only be able to use each once. But full price the shampoo and conditioner together come to around £25 so I'm not surprised the sample is just a sachet.

Andrew Barton surefix ponybands and grips

These are both full size items, so the same amount of grips are hairbands you would get if you bought them in the shops. I have tried both the hairbands are great at gripping but they have a metal section rather than being elastic all the way around and i find when they have the metal part it snags at my hair and pulls it out, so I'm not sure how often i will use these. The grips are really good and hold in place well i would buy more of these as they don't feel like they will loose grip after 1 or 2 wears like some.

Weleda rose night cream

This is a 5ml sample but you get enough in the tube for 4/5 applications. Rose is not a scent i like and i find even a mild scent overpowering so i don't like how this smells but the cream is nice and thick and left my face soft. I will use it as i don't hate it i just wouldn't buy it full size.

Make believe beauty highlighter

There were 3 possibilities that you could get from this brand, a lipgloss, a bronzer and the highlighter that i got. This item is full sized and as i don't use either bronzer or gloss i was very happy that i got this. I have used it on my cheeks the highlighter is a thick creme so a little goes a long way and give a nice shimmer. I'll be using this in the future on my checks and lids.

Yardley daisy fragrance

This was a very small sample the kind you can get at the perfume counter. I don't actually mind the smell of this it's quite fresh and the full price for a bottle isn't very much, around £10 so a good price for a work perfume.

Murrays matchbook nail files

Again this is a full size item, the files can be snapped off to use and the pack can be kept in you bag or desk at work to be used in a nail emergency. I never carry a nail file (although i have a proper hissy fit if i break one! ) so i will be putting these in my purse so they are with me all the time and ready to save the day.

I really love how you get the card with all the details for your goodies on and it lets you know the price of full sized items. I am really happy with this box and i can't wait for next months.
Do you subscribe to a beauty box what do you think to your box this month?

A first time for everything

This is the outfit i wore to go shopping at the weekend. Most of the outfit you will have seen before in previous posts but as it's getting chillier i added a coat one that you haven't seen before. In fact i think this is the first time on the blog that I've worn a coat, i tend to get very warm so i tend to only break the coats out in really cold weather.

This however is a very special coat i love every single thing about it. The coat is from the first Clements Ribeiro collection at Evans. It was a very pricey coat for me at least, i paid £99 for the coat only for it to go down to £25 four weeks later. I'm sure you've all had this happen at one time or another but it's so frustrating when it does. I love the coat though so that made me feel better.
The coat is a size 20 and doesn't have any buttons or fastenings, as I've said i find i get too warm in coats most of the time so i usually wear them open anyway. It also has 3/4 sleeves but i must have short arms because they are almost full length on me. It also has pocks so you can keep your hands warm too.

I wore my polka dot New look dress with i posted about here and my Matalan bag which you have also seen here. I added my pink poodle brooch which i made myself to the collar and i was good to go.

The coat kept the wind and the chill in the air away and it was really comfy to wear. I really love this coat so will definitely be wearing it more as the weather gets colder. I also managed to get a picture of the hubby looking all beardy.

Have you had to break out your winter coat yet?
I hope you all have a great week and thanks for reading :)

Who has all the faux fur?!

Well the answer to that is me ! I love the stuff i have quite a number of faux fur coats and jackets and a number of stoles. I went to the shipping center yesterday as the hubby wanted to visit the game shop, never one to shy away from a shopping trip i went along. I did have a nose around some of the clothes shops but wasn't very inspired to be honest i think the new Simply Be and Tesco dresses are so beautiful not much can come close.
We did however pop into Hotel Chocolat which is a shop i adore being a chocolate fiend. I bought myself some caramelised hazelnuts in milk chocolate and the hubby got some dark chocolate coffee beans and mocha chocolates.

After we'd got our hands on the chocolates i popped next door to Accessorize where i was very impressed they had a great selection and it was full to the brim with lovely faux fur goodies! Now i wanted to buy everything but i managed to be restrained and just picked up my two favourite things. Because my hubby is so lovely he agreed to buy me the muffler and the earmuffs too.
The lovely Amy or as you may know her smeeeff first tweeted about the wonderful faux fur earmuffs and as soon as she did i knew i needed them!
Both are available to buy from Accessorize if you like me are a lover of all things faux fur.
How do you feel about it love or hate the fake furry stuff?

Winter warmer

I'm sure it hasn't escaped your notice if your in the UK that things are getting a little chillier. My favourite thing about the colder weather is getting new snugly cardigans and faux furs. Ive being doing the no spending challenge so i have bought any recently but I've had a good look online and show you my favourites.
I love this chunky cardigan from Tesco for only £16 i think it would be perfect to wear for a casual day and keeping warm while your out and about.

This new look inspire cardigan is leopard print which is always a winner for me but its a little more than i would usually pay for a cardigan at £29.99.

Another new look gem you would keep warm and look fantastic is the great faux fur coat at £49.99 its a good price for a winter coat and fax fur is so classic I'll be wearing mine for years.

This Evans cardigan is in the sale for £20 and i personally love the print on it, it's not too in your face but adds something different to a beige cardigan.

I am completely in love with this simply be cardigan the colour, the knit everything! I feel like i need it to make my life complete ( so maybe a slight over exaggeration! )  Yours for £32 and mine too fingers crossed.

And although it's not a faux fur i am in love with this coat its a great colour and so different to the ones I've seen at the minute. From Simply Be and £62 which is a great price for such a classic looking coat.

Whats your go to item for the starts of winter ?

A quick hello

Just a quick hello from me, it's just a short post I've been very busy recently and out of the house for 12 hours so i haven't been dressing up just dressing for comfort in outfits that you have already seen. I did however have time to nip into Tesco last night and my lovely husband bought me two dresses.
Here is a quick peek of them outfit posts to follow shortly

The second picture doesn't show the amazing lace detail but it's the lace dress from the true range I've been waiting for forever. I can't wait to show you these on i love them.
How has your week been?
