Workwear

We don't have a uniform or a strict dress policy where i work its pretty much smart casual so I'm quite free when it comes to how i dress which is lucky. I never really buy things with the intention of wearing them for work but some pieces make there way into my work wardrobe pretty fast.
Last month i was having a nosey around Matalan when i spotted a few cute bits and decided to try them on.

P5106443

The first thing i tried was this cute pencil skirt. I usually wear a 22 but as Matalan only goes up to a 20 in most of the cute stuff i always go and have a try on to see if a 20 will work. That day was a good fitting day and pretty much everything i tried on in a 20 fit which really surprised me. The skirt is a pull on pencil skirt and is made from a thick stretch material so you don't get that awful white stretch you get from some thinner printed pencil skirts.

P5106442

I can't remember how much the skirt was and i can't seem to find it online but i don't think it was more than £12 which is great value too. As there is so much stretch in the skirt it's really comfortable to wear all day at work and i rarely find myself having to re adjust it.

P5106441

The shirt was also from Matalan and i was convinced that this wouldn't fit as it was only a 20 and i usually have to wear a 22 or 24 in shirts depending on the cut and fabric. The shirt is still online and it other colours too. Mine was full price at £12 but its down to a bargain £6 now online so you can't go wrong!

P5106433

The sleeves on the shirt are really unusual almost like a cape in my opinion. I think these too pieces go really well together and just go to show how you should always try on if you like something as you never know what the fit might be like.
Do you have any plans for today if your not working? My plans involve having a nice lazy day before being back at work tomorrow.

Feeling Fabulous this Christmas

I was contacted recently by Daxon who had the idea of a post around feeling fabulous this Christmas, as soon as i saw the idea i knew i wanted to get involved. I decided to base my outfit around going out and feeling fabulous this Christmas time. Anyone who knows me will know who much i enjoy getting dressed up so i knew i wanted sparkles because who doesn't feel fabulous in sparkles?! I also wanted to get items that i could use all year round and that could be dressed up a number of ways.

PC146228

So here is what i decided on, as soon as i saw this skirt i knew i wanted to base the outfit around it. I've wanted a sequin mini for as long as i can remember and this one ticks all the boxes! I went for a size 22/24 and the fit on this is pretty spot on, there is room for me to dance and move comfortably while its still a figure hugging skirt. There is some stretch to the skirt so you aren't restricted in it at all.

PC146225

I decided to go for a shirt as i thought it would look cute with the skirt but again its something i will get lots of wear out of after the christmas season. This shirt is a size 24 and fits really well with no gaping which i always have a problem with when it comes to shirts. It also has a really nice pu effect collar, cuffs and a strip down the middle that hides the buttons.

PC146230

So my advise on how to feel fabulous this christmas is to wear whatever you want as long as you feel comfortable in what your wearing then who cares what anyone else thinks! So if you've always wanted to get your sparkle on then go for it.
Thanks to Daxon for helping me to shimmer this christmas.

My New Love

As i mentioned in my post last week I'm totally in love with these jeggings from Matalan and i have been wearing them so much, so here they are back on the blog again.

PB086191

Wearing these jeggings has meant that some of my lesser worn tops have been getting an outing which can only be a good thing. I have had this shirt for about a year now but I'm not sure if I've ever worn it. I think after i had initially bought it the colour put me off a little but after wearing it the other day i really love it.

PB086193

I added some black love heart earrings and my black leather jacket to go out as its been pretty chilly recently. This shirt is a size 24 and really quite baggy although weirdly in certain positions the buttons over the bust gape. I have found this a lot with shirts from New Look unfortunately, it can easily be sewn closed but its a little annoying to get a gape when you size up in a shirt and the rest of it is baggy.

PB086196

PB086192

I thought I'd show you the back of these jeggings, they have quite a thick waist band so they don't fall down at all! And they fit like a glove especially around my bum which makes me a happy lady.
I hope you all have a great weekend :)

Party All Night

Here are some more outfits i recreated from Plus North as the only ones that i had taken were mirror shots in the hotel room. On Saturday night we went back to the Plus North venue, where there was music and a surprise evening fashion show. I decided to be comfy as i knew me and Lisa were planning to party hard after the event.

P9136077

I wore my G21 for Asda over sized shirt which is now much less over sized after washed it (only on 30 by the way!) and my acid wash shorts from New Look.

P9136074

Me and Lisa had just got to the pub after the event and in walked a Sam,Amanda,Elana and then Kerry. It was so nice to see these lovelies had come out and were in the mood to party. And party we did, although i spent quite a lot of the time on the stage dancing. Lisa thinks i spend so much time up there is because there is mirror behind it and i can see myself! She could very well be correct :)
I had a fab night and i really didn't want it to end, these girls are so lovely and i really enjoyed meeting them and spending the night in their company.

The next outfit was a bit of a spare of the moment choice. When we went for food on Sunday with the Mr, the other girls came too and said they were thinking of going out Sunday night too as their coach back to Scotland wasn't until Monday. So me and Lisa never one to turn down a chance to dance decided to stay another night in Leeds.

P9136064

And that's how the clothes swap dancing outfit was born. I got these lovely shorts from Emma as she knew how much i love my shorts. The top was from the swap and is a size 24 from New Look, it hadn't been worn and still had the tags on, so a big thanks to whoever brought that.

P9136063

The top was actually much longer on the night and unless i was stood side on to you, you couldn't actually tell that i had shorts on. This again has shrunk in the wash ( i honestly don't know how i do this to all my clothes) but as it was a little on the big side to start with it hasn't affected the fit at all and i really love it.

P9136060

We had a great night Sunday too although it was much quieter out than it had been on Saturday but it was lovely to spend more time with everyone i just wish the girls didn't live so far away!

Piercings and Partying

Two weeks ago now me and Lisa went into Sheffield to have catch up, and few drinks and to get pierced. I had decided a few months ago that i wanted to get my tragus pierced so off we went to blue banana in Sheffield who i have been pierced by before. They are really nice and chatty and get everything done super fast.

After piercings we went and had a browse at the vintage fair that was in town and then off to the pub we went. I had a great day and night and lots of dancing was done as always when me and Lisa get together. Here is what i wore when i went out, again i am rubbish and didn't get a picture before we left for Sheffield in the morning so i recreated my outfit here,

P3155513

Firstly i know you have been seeing a lot of this jacket recently but i am completely in love with it and its so easy to wear! I wish Tesco would bring it back out in other colours so i could buy more of them.  I have been desperately searching for something similar to this jacket so i can mix it up a bit but so far i haven't found anything.

P3155516

I decided to wear a shirt and shorts which i hadn't worn before but i thought they looked super cue together. The shirt is from New Look Inspire last summer and is a size 24 as i needed to size up to get it to close over my boobs. I really like this shirt the only negative about it was that a few of the buttons gape even though there is no tension in the shirt, it was happening over baggy part which i found very odd. However i could just sew the shirt up and leave the top few buttons so i can get it on and off.

P3155524

Now lets talk about these shorts, i adore them! I bought these shorts from the Angela Ribbons collection at Simply Be along with this pair that i have already blogged about here. They were my birthday gift to myself and I'm so glad that i got them as i love both pairs so much. These are a size 22 and a perfect fit, there is even a little room. They are a little longer and not as fitted as the other pair, they also have this really great detail around the sides at the bottom.

P3155530

These shorts are made from a thicker denim than the other pair and aren't as stretchy however they have a small stretch panel at the waist which helps keeps them comfy after a big dinner. Simply Be have come up trumps again for me with these shorts.

Daisy Duke

I had this post scheduled then i remembered that it was the OMCZ challenge day so i have blagged it a bit!
This fortnights theme was an outfit inspired by a movie/tv character, I've decided with this post to go with daisy duke as she wears shorts shorts too. I'm annoyed with myself for forgetting as this theme was really fun and i can't wait to see the others inspirations.I've also just realised I'm wearing the same shorts from the last OMCZ post, but at least they are getting some good wear!
I recently went into Matalan  for a look at the Rogers and Rogers section and came out with a few bits. I got this dress which is great for work and I've already worn quite a few times and this shirt.
I decided to wear the shirt with my Asos curve shorts and my new converse pumps, i think this is the first time I've worn anything resembling a trainer on the blog!

P1014383

I got the shirt in a size 24 and it's a good fit a little lose with no gaping over the bust when fastened. It comes with a cami but you can take that out and wear it sheer if you wanted to. For £16 i thought this was a really cute shirt, it comes just past your waist at the front but down to mid bum on the back.

P1014379

The Rogers and Rogers range at Matalan goes from a 18 to a 30 and i found the size range in store to be good with quite a lot of different sizes available. The range has definitely improved from how it used to be and is one of the places i now look at rather than just walking past.

90's vibe

I went shopping on good Friday with my hubby to Doncaster i had been back in January with the girls and found lots of great shops and sales so i thought I'd try my luck again. It didn't disappoint!
I popped into New Look and found 2 pairs of shorts in the sale in a size 24 so i quickly hurried to the changing room to try them on.
Here is one pair i got for £9 in the sale in a size 24. I real love these shorts and they remind me of the coloured jeans you used to see in the 90's.

These shorts are stretch denim with one button and zip to fasten them, they are really comfy too.
I wore these the day after i bought them to go and see my mum as i couldn't wait to get them on.

P1013964

I paired the shorts with my sheer shirt which i got from the fat swap and a Primark cami underneath. It was windy out so i wore my New Look cardigan and Tesco tights to keep me warm. I adore these shorts and can't wait till the weather gets better so i can wear them all them time.

P1013969

I'm so in love with shorts at the minute i actually now have 7 pairs and one on its way to me! If your lucky enough to be off work today i hope you have a fabulous bank holiday :)

Pink On Tap

The lovely Rachel contacted me to ask if i wanted to get involved with the out of my comfort zone challenge and i decided to give it a go.

The outfit needed to involve tights or leggings along with pink and stripes so here what i came up with.

P1013895

The tights are from Yours and they are 100 denier which is what you need for this cold weather we've been having! The shirt is also from Yours, size 24 and you have seen it in a previous post here. The shorts are from New Look size 22 and you have seen these in quite a few posts recently i love them! The earrings are from Primark and the only bit of stripes that i could find.

P1013892

I decided to go make up free in this post as i don't always wear it although i feel a bit naked without lipstick!

P1013899

Go check out the other ladies

Sheer Floral

I went to visit my mum this weekend and needed to pick an outfit, i was having one of those days where you can see the clothes you have but can't image an outfit put together. I remembered i had this shirt which i bought with some birthday money last month.

The shirt was from Yours i am lucky enough to have a store close by so i can pop in to try things on before deciding if i want to buy them. This shirt drew my eye straight away the bright colours and the little hint of lace at the back.

P1013785

The shirt is from the Limited collection at Yours and is available online here, it was £28 and i decided after trying on a few sizes to go with the 24. I actually bought this shirt to wear tucked into my short shorts because it looks amazing with them! But today i wanted to be comfy and relaxed so i went with my trusty Tesco leggings.

P1013790

I love the open back and hint of lace i think it added and extra touch to the shirt. It hasn't showed up in the pictures but the shirt is sheer but i think because of the floral pattern it doesn't seem quite so see through.
Now obviously it pretty cold out so i did add my super comfy snugly cardigan over the top so i didn't freeze.

P1013782

I felt comfy in this outfit and that what i wanted for the day but I'll definitely be pairing the shirt tucked into my shorts in future as i think that looks so much better.
As always thank you so much for following and reading it means a lot to me :)
I hope your all having a great week

Fat swap ootd

So i said I'd do a post on my outfit from the fat swap but I've only just gotten around to it. I'd bought myself some short shorts and couldn't wait to wear them so they have their fist outing at the swap.
My lovely hubby ordered me a t-shirt that i wanted to go with them but it came after I'd left for the swap so i went with this outfit.

P1013453

You can just about see the bottom or the shorts, they are from New Look i got them in a size 22 and the cost £14.99. they are made from a stretch denim so get your usual size, depending on your shape you may be able to size down. They are still available online here if you fancy a pair.

P1013456

I wore them with my leopard print shirt from Evans ages ago in size 22, my primark headscarf, tights in size 3 from Yours and my New Look cardigan size 22. The shorts are really comfy to wear and sit high waisted and do stay in the right place most of the time although i did have to re adjust a few times!

P1013458

And here is a gratuitous bum shot just i case you wanted to see the back of them

P1013459

I really love these shorts I'm sure you will be seeing much more of them in the future.
Do you wear short shorts?
XOXO
