The Best Nights

Its been a while hasn't it?! Well I'm still here over in this little corner of the internet, things have been super busy recently and i haven't taken a proper outfit picture it what seems like forever but i wanted to do a little post to share my outfit from last Saturday.

I had arranged to go over to Lisa's for a few drinks and a general catch up last Saturday, let me put this out there right now i had no intention of going out at all, i took no make up, jewellery or clothes with me expect for my super old jumpsuit i wear for bed if its cold.
After a few hours of catching up and a good few drink me and Lisa got that feeling, the one where being inside the house just isn't working and you need to go dance your butt off and dance it off we did!
As i didn't have anything to wear Lisa very kindly looked through her vast array of clothes and came up with an absolute beauty!

The dress was one of the 99p ones that Yours did last year and i believe the belt was from Primark. I totally fell in love with this outfit and it was perfect for dancing the night away in, apart from being a little chilly on the way to town i had no complaints.

Lisa very kindly let me use her make up too so that i didn't look like I'd been up for the last 48hrs! I was so in love with this lipstick although i have forgotten which it was now!
Saturday night was totally unplanned but it was one of the best nights I've had in ages, i danced so much my arms hurt the next day and i was even up and dancing on the tables in one place, i haven't done that in years!!

It was an amazing night and i had the best time! Sometimes those totally unplanned and unorganised nights are the best.

Winter Warmers

It's getting to that time of year again where we need to dig out our comfy cosy clothes that have been gathering dust at the back of the wardrobe for the last few months. I love nothing more than grabbing a cosy cardigan or jumper to add to my outfit but sometimes i find that my tastes have changed or that my perfect winter outfit has a stain on it or is looking a little worn. In that case its time to look around and see what beauties there are out there to replace it.
I thought i would share with you a few of my winter must haves and things that have caught my eye over the last few weeks.
I spotted this coat in New Look a few weeks ago and i fell in love! It would be the perfect winter coat and the colour is just beautiful.
£49.99

Next up are a couple of jumpers that have caught my eye, they are perfect with shorts and tights or over cute dresses.
I love how fluffy this jumper is and its leopard print too which is a favourite of mine as you know!
£32 Simply Be
I need a new eyelash knit jumper and this one is perfect.

£25 Yours clothing
Now i know the onesie is a bit of a marmite item but i love mine and it is perfect for keeping warm in the winter without having a massive heating bill.
Look how snug and warm this looks!
£28 Yours
I do still wear dresses and shorts throughout the winter so i need a good pair of tights, although they can be hard to find! I am still on the search for the perfect pair of winter tights but when i find them i will let you know! If any of you have any recommendations for 100+ denier tights then let me know.

Birthday Girl in Blackpool

A few weekends ago me and Lisa went to Blackpool to celebrate her birthday. We had a lot of fun and many a drink was had! We set off Friday morning like excited kids in the car, i saw the sea first so i totally won that game ( although I'm sure i was the only one playing)
I didn't take that many pictures that weren't selfies or mirror shots but i thought i would share my few pictures with you. If you already follow me on instagram you have probably already seen them.

We had to have fish and chips when we arrived

Family photo, Lisa,Me and The Mr

The Mr by the sea
The Mr had very kindly driven me and Lisa down to Blackpool so we repaid him in fish and chips and warm doughnuts on the way home, he really is the best !
Here was my travelling outfit which is an old Asos curve dress that i just love!

After unpacking we went for a walk around Blackpool and down the pier and of course we stopped for an ice cream! When we got to the end of the pier we spotted several older couples ballroom dancing they looked so sweet and it reminded me of when i used to go with my nan and grandad.
Before we knew it it was time to get ready to party. I wore my new Simply Be cami dress, i really loved it but it was a little weird to be going out in a dress as I'm so used to shorts!

Not sure what i was doing here, but we clearly
party in style check to the hello
kitty cups!

We had such a good night out and i really had a great time, we danced the night away until our feet gave in and we headed back to the hotel. The next morning i was feeling very delicate and took myself down for breakfast at about 7am, never one to shy away from a selfie here i am hungover and hungry!

The next day it did rain unfortunately but it stopped long enough for us to go out and have a look around the shops, buy sticks of rock and snow globes for Lisa. I decided to go for comfit and wore my Yours playsuit.

On Saturday night we headed back out this time i was in my trusty shots and a Simply Be top that i had been lusting over for weeks before it went in the sale a few weeks ago.

Look how cute Lisa looks in the birthday dress

I had the best time ever with my favourite dancing partner, now to decide what town we need to explore next year for my birthday!

Playfully Yours

I posted last month about mine and Lisa's shopping trip and how I'd developed a bit of a soft spot for a playsuit in Yours. I really liked it but i didn't buy it as i knew there was a few discount codes knocking around online and i wanted to save a few pounds.

P6295857

How cute ?!! I really love how this playsuit fits the shape looks great and it feels like it was made for me. This is another purchase that will be making its way to Blackpool with me. The material is quite a thick crepe type material which makes i really comfy to wear and seems to move with your body.

P6295861

The shorts are mid thigh and a lovely loose style, a lot of the playsuits i have feel can feel tight around the hips/bum when sitting down but this isn't like that. I also really love the print of this playsuit it's fun and bright and i couldn't think of a better playsuit to take with me.

P6295863

As you can see from the back there is an exposed zip and then a button fastening at the top. I found this really easy to do up myself especially as the zip only goes halfway up. Trust me as a girl who has gone out many a time in a playsuit there is nothing more annoying than not being able to do up it up and having to ask a stranger in the toilet to do it.

P6295866

If you have never tried a playsuit before what are you waiting for head over to Yours and try this beauty on for size I'm sure you'll love it! Also if you haven't seen it already check out the super cute Hayley Hasselhoff modelling for Yours.

Blazer Love

I have recently rekindled my love of blazers, when i was younger i wore a blazer with jeans every chance i got although if you asked me to wear my school one that was a big no no! So when Yours Clothing asked me to pick a few items and i spotted this blazer i fell in love.

P4275695

This blazer is a lovely soft jersey material, which is my preferred material as it moves with you and doesn't feel as restrictive as others made from a more structured material. I was sent this in a size 22 and this fit is great.

P4275689

The sleeves are 3/4 ones which i really like, as i do have a massive love for my forearms. And i love the polkadot cuff at the end of the sleeves, i think it makes a plain black blazer stand out. You can also get this blazer with an animal print cuff which i love too. At £35 it's around the price you would pay for a blazer from most shops but its worth the money as i think they go with everything especially shorts!

P4275691

I wore this with my jeans and leopard print tee and i felt fabulous. Blazers always make me feel smartly dressed and this outfit was definitely a winner for me ! If you want to get your hands on this beauty then its available online here

Summery Casual

Toda's post is the next piece i got from the lovely guys over at Yours Clothing as you all know by now i love shorts! So the obvious choice or me was to try a pair of shorts from Yours. I decided to go with these denim shorts.

P4275709

I got these in a 22 and i would say they are a generous 22 not enough to go down a full size but enough that you can eat a big dinner in them. They are really light so will be perfect for the summer and festival wear.

P4275714

These shorts are longer than lots of the other pairs i have but its nice to have a casual pair. I wore these with my strawberry print vest and purple lipstick, i really loved the outfit its different to what i would usually wear but i felt super relaxed and comfy.

P4275712

These shorts will be perfect for me to wear for a day in the park and I'm sure they will end up in my festival bag too as they really are very comfy. The are nice a lightweight so you won't overheat in them in the summer either. If you fancy a pair they are available online here for £25.

Pretty As A Daisy

Last week Yours Clothing asked me if i wanted to review a few pieces on the blog and i have the first to share with you today. I picked this super cute daisy print skirt in a size 22, i really wanted to try something that i wouldn't usually wear and see how i could style it up.

P4275725

I own a few skater dresses but i have never tried on a skirt before, the skirts i usually wear tend to be body con style so it was nice to try something different. The first thing i want to say about this skirt it that it has serious twirling potential its lovely and full.

P4275729

I was sent a 22 and it fits me well and the waist is elasticated so i think the 22 would fit a size bigger too. If your in-between sizes i would probably recommend choosing the lower size. The skirt is made from a nice jersey, it is super light to wear and the daisy print is just adorable.

P4275728
I have no idea why i look so stern here!

I wore this out on Sunday to go for dinner and then to watch Amazing Spiderman 2 with the Mr and Lisa. I teamed it with a vest i have had since last summer and just before i left i decided to add a cardigan as it was a little chilly.

P4275724

This is a short skirt if you wear it high up on the body like i have done but not short enough to flash anything so don't worry about that. If you fancy getting your hands on this skirt its available online here for £17, so it has a really reasonable price point too.

The 99p Dress

That's right this dress was a complete bargain at 99p! When i saw on twitter that Yours were offering the chance to bag one of their dresses for 99p i jumped at the chance. There was a choice of dresses but i went for the polka dot one as i had seen a similar one last year but never got round to buying it.

P2165465

I ordered the dress in a size 22 and the fit is great for me. It also came with the red belt which fits, which isn't always the case with some plus size belts that come on dresses. This is a really easy dress to wear, add some tights and a faux fur for the winter or wear it on its own with bare legs for the summer.

P2165461

The dress is made from a jersey material and has some stretch to it, the size 22 fits me great but if you are between sizes then i would say to get the smaller size. The dress has 3/4 sleeves and comes to just below my knees, so i think it will be a great dress for me to wear to work during the summer.

P2165464

I also really love the neckline on this dress it allows my tattoos to peak out from under the dress. I am hoping to try to add different accessories to the dress including a leopard print belt which i think would look really cute. With it being a skater dress shape the skirt part of the dress is really full and is perfect for twirling.

P2165454

You really can't complain when you get such a cute dress for 99p and it was a great way for people to try out Yours clothing if they hadn't before. The dress is available on the website for the full price of £32 if you want to get your hands on it you can here.
Did you end up getting yourself a bargain dress?

Plus North Part 2

So straight on from part 1, we got to Plus North a little earlier than we needed to but that gave me chance to chat with the lovely Chloe. She hadn't even finished setting up her stall before I'd picked these 2 beauties and decided they had to be mine!

Lisa and me spent a while chatting to everyone and generally having a giggle then it was time for me to get my model on!
I was kindly given a bra and knicker set from Panache to wear under the outfit I would be modelling for Simply Be. Here it is,
Excuse the tape on my leg i had my tattoo
finished last week and I'm wet healing

Now lets talk about my outfit from Simply Be, it was amazing I loved it so much and I really don't think that Simply Be could have chosen an outfit that was more me! Here is a pic i took when i got home so you could see the outfit,

The top and skirt are both Anna Scholz for Simply Be and are a size 24, they are made from a thick jersey type material with some stretch. The skirt has the most amazing zip that goes all the way up the side so you can choose if you want to show a little more leg. The top is available here and the skirt is available here.
Everyone got together and waited for the catwalk to start, there was a lot of nerves and excitement as we waited to go on. Everyone looked so beautiful and it was great to see all the different shapes and sizes rocking it down the runway! I want to say a big thank you to Simply Be for giving me the chance to get my model on and being such a fab team to work with :)
Pic from the Simply Be blog

I didn't get any pictures myself but here are a few taken from some other lovelies.

I loved how the top and skirt looked like a dress and when I told people they were really surprised and the fact you can wear both together or separately just makes the outfit even more perfect!
Simply Be were very kind and let all of us keep our outfits which was amazing. I loved mine so much I kept it on for the rest of the day.
The rest of the day was spent chatting, looking at the great companies stalls and some major whooping at the other catwalk shows! Along with some time in the photo booth of course!

Me and Lisa

The other catwalk shows from Excite clothing,Curvissa,Yours and Evans were fab and everyone looked so amazing! Again I didn't manage to get any pics but here are some fabulous ones

I met so many amazing people far too many to list them all here! But it was great to meet new people and finally meet others who I had spoken to for so many months online.
I really did have the best time for more pics check out the #plusnorth has tag on instagram, i cannot wait to see all the picture from the event!
If you didn't go to plus north this year you missed a truly amazing day and I can't put into words how much fun you would have so make sure you come to next years.
Bring on plus north 2014!

Plus Size Outfit Day- Wedding Bells

So this months theme is wedding bells and myself and other ladies will be showing you our wedding outfits either as a guest or the person getting married.

As you might know i have been married for over two years now so i will show you some pictures from my wedding and what i wore and then a few ootd which i think would work as an outfit for a wedding.
First up is my wedding pictures, we got married on the 13th of December and i was a little chilly but it didn't rain or snow which was good!
My dress wasn't traditional at all i bought it from Vivien of Holloway, the shoes were the first pair my hubby bought me along with the clutch to match, the faux fur stole was one i picked up just before the wedding.

I did my hair and make up myself and left it really simple as i didn't want anything to over the top. I had a great day and felt amazing in my dress. I would re create an ootd with it but its too small now unfortunately but i do still have in my wardrobe.
No onto a few ootd' that i think could work well for a wedding
