Workwear

We don't have a uniform or a strict dress policy where i work its pretty much smart casual so I'm quite free when it comes to how i dress which is lucky. I never really buy things with the intention of wearing them for work but some pieces make there way into my work wardrobe pretty fast.
Last month i was having a nosey around Matalan when i spotted a few cute bits and decided to try them on.

P5106443

The first thing i tried was this cute pencil skirt. I usually wear a 22 but as Matalan only goes up to a 20 in most of the cute stuff i always go and have a try on to see if a 20 will work. That day was a good fitting day and pretty much everything i tried on in a 20 fit which really surprised me. The skirt is a pull on pencil skirt and is made from a thick stretch material so you don't get that awful white stretch you get from some thinner printed pencil skirts.

P5106442

I can't remember how much the skirt was and i can't seem to find it online but i don't think it was more than £12 which is great value too. As there is so much stretch in the skirt it's really comfortable to wear all day at work and i rarely find myself having to re adjust it.

P5106441

The shirt was also from Matalan and i was convinced that this wouldn't fit as it was only a 20 and i usually have to wear a 22 or 24 in shirts depending on the cut and fabric. The shirt is still online and it other colours too. Mine was full price at £12 but its down to a bargain £6 now online so you can't go wrong!

P5106433

The sleeves on the shirt are really unusual almost like a cape in my opinion. I think these too pieces go really well together and just go to show how you should always try on if you like something as you never know what the fit might be like.
Do you have any plans for today if your not working? My plans involve having a nice lazy day before being back at work tomorrow.

That's What Friends Are For

Me and Lisa like to get together once a month at least and let our hair down and dance the night away. I started my week off with a day of shopping and a night on the tiles with Lisa and a few other lovely ladies.
We met up after Lisa had finished work and had a quick browse around Meadowhall where i found this amazing jacket from New Look. I had seen it online but i was unsure what size i would need or how a longer jacket would look on me.

P1076264

I went with a size 20 in the jacket as i liked the slightly oversized look but if you wanted it to be more fitted then i would suggest sizing down twice. I wore this outfit the very next day as i couldn't wait to take my new jacket out for a spin.

P1076258

The jacket is super lightweight and made from a crepe type material so it is easy to layer up but it would be great during the cooler summer nights too. This jacket is also available in a fabulous lime green and black, i love the green but it just doesn't go with my hair unfortunately.

P1076273

Lisa very kindly donated this cute dipped hem top to me. I absolutely love it, its lightweight and looks cute tucked in or out. This top is a size 30 but i really love how oversized it is on me without looking like it doesn't fit me. This was originally from Simply Be but I'm not sure how long ago so you may still be able to find it online.

P1076271

Yet again I'm wearing my Matalan jeggings they seriously don't come off my butt i love them !! Thanks to Lisa for the top and the fabulous night dancing too :)

Winter Floral

Sorry its been a bit quiet over here for the past week or so, i have been enjoying a week off which was filled with dancing, shopping, reading and spending time with people i love! I hope you have all had a great week too.
Now this jacket is one that i got in the sale just after Xmas from Matalan i didn't even realise it was in the sale until i got to the till and at only £8 it made my day.

P1076255

The jacket is a size 20 and as its made of scuba material it has plenty of stretch meaning i could get away with a size down from my usual. I was drawn to the print of the jacket as soon as i saw it in store.

P1076245

I wore this during my week off to go and do  bit of shopping with the Mr and to check out the last of the sales. I didn't find much in the sales but i did get myself a new Stephen King book which I'm hoping to finish by the weekend and some hair dye so my lovely Mr is sorting out my roots.

P1076242

I wore this with a peplum tshirt that i got from Asda about 2 years ago and my favourite acid wash jeggings which are also fro Matalan. I honestly love these so much i have bought a second pair, these ones are a size 20 from the petite section but when i decided i wanted a second pair they only had them in the Rodgers & Rodgers section so my new pair are still a 20 but a bit longer in the leg and £2 more expensive! Which makes no sense to me at all if you can sell it in the straight size section for £12 I'm sure you could do the same for your plus size section.

P1076247

This jacket is super comfy and it will be perfect to add to so many outfits. The floral is really vibrant and i love how it is collarless too. I do have a bit of a thing for blazer style jackets and this one is perfect for my collection.

My New Love

As i mentioned in my post last week I'm totally in love with these jeggings from Matalan and i have been wearing them so much, so here they are back on the blog again.

PB086191

Wearing these jeggings has meant that some of my lesser worn tops have been getting an outing which can only be a good thing. I have had this shirt for about a year now but I'm not sure if I've ever worn it. I think after i had initially bought it the colour put me off a little but after wearing it the other day i really love it.

PB086193

I added some black love heart earrings and my black leather jacket to go out as its been pretty chilly recently. This shirt is a size 24 and really quite baggy although weirdly in certain positions the buttons over the bust gape. I have found this a lot with shirts from New Look unfortunately, it can easily be sewn closed but its a little annoying to get a gape when you size up in a shirt and the rest of it is baggy.

PB086196

PB086192

I thought I'd show you the back of these jeggings, they have quite a thick waist band so they don't fall down at all! And they fit like a glove especially around my bum which makes me a happy lady.
I hope you all have a great weekend :)

Cosy Winter Knit

It's gotten pretty chilly over the last few days so i decided to dig out my cutest jumper for work the other day. I bought this jumper last year from New Look, the cute little pug caught my eye and i knew it had to be mine.

PB086183

I bought this in a size 24 as i wanted it to be over sized, its so comfy and cosy and it was perfect for a day at work. The jumper is quite thin so i wasn't too warm inside but it kept me snug when i was outside on my lunch. It is super soft too, there is nothing worse than a scratchy jumper!

PB086182

I wore this with my new jeggings from Matalan, I'm totally in love with them and have worn them so many times since i bought them a few weeks ago. I can see them becoming a staple as we go into the colder months.

PB086178

I felt super cute in this outfit and i was comfy all day. I am seriously contemplating buying another pair of these jeggings as they are so amazing! If anyone else has any recommendations for other jeggings let me know as I'm pretty sure I'll need more of these over the winter.
I hope you all had a great weekend i was working Sunday so I'm looking forward to a 3 day weekend this week.

Payday Treats

This is a mix and match of all the bits I've bought over the last few months but hadn't got around to sharing with you. As I've been busy at work i haven't had time for any outfit pictures so i thought this was a good time to share my new bits with you.
First up are a few bits i got from Asda and Matalan. The rings were a bargain £3, the earrings £2 and the pink biker jacket was £30. I love the jacket so much the pink colour is perfect and i adore the faux fur collar! I got this in a size 20 and i can zip it up although i prefer it open.

The acid wash jeggings are a size 20 from Matalan. They are super soft and stretchy, i had seen them on Leah who got them from the Rogers and Rogers section but they didn't have my size in my local Matalan so i decided to give the petite sections size 20 a go and I'm glad i did. While was there i picked up this super cute bag and the Mr decided to treat me which was super nice of him.

On a shopping trip to Meadowhall with my mum she kindly bought me a few bits in Primark, some shoes which are a bargain £4 and perfect for work. I picked up the roller ball perfume too which smells lovely, and is slim enough to fit in any of my handbags and only £2.

This is a top i have had for ages, i bought it a few months ago when i went shopping with Lisa. It was £5 in the H&M sale and is a size XL.

Lastly i have picked up a few red lipsticks during my shopping trips. From Left to right they are, Sleek Russian Roulette, 17 Rule Breaker, 17 Date Night.

I didn't realise i had got so much over the last few months until i went to take these pictures! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend :)

Daisy Duke

I had this post scheduled then i remembered that it was the OMCZ challenge day so i have blagged it a bit!
This fortnights theme was an outfit inspired by a movie/tv character, I've decided with this post to go with daisy duke as she wears shorts shorts too. I'm annoyed with myself for forgetting as this theme was really fun and i can't wait to see the others inspirations.I've also just realised I'm wearing the same shorts from the last OMCZ post, but at least they are getting some good wear!
I recently went into Matalan  for a look at the Rogers and Rogers section and came out with a few bits. I got this dress which is great for work and I've already worn quite a few times and this shirt.
I decided to wear the shirt with my Asos curve shorts and my new converse pumps, i think this is the first time I've worn anything resembling a trainer on the blog!

P1014383

I got the shirt in a size 24 and it's a good fit a little lose with no gaping over the bust when fastened. It comes with a cami but you can take that out and wear it sheer if you wanted to. For £16 i thought this was a really cute shirt, it comes just past your waist at the front but down to mid bum on the back.

P1014379

The Rogers and Rogers range at Matalan goes from a 18 to a 30 and i found the size range in store to be good with quite a lot of different sizes available. The range has definitely improved from how it used to be and is one of the places i now look at rather than just walking past.

Happy Holidays

Unfortunately i don't have a holiday booked for this year but believe me i wish i did! My last holiday was to Florida with my hubby, we had an amazing time and it was 2 weeks filled with theme parks water parks and great fun in the sun!
I'm not going to lie here I'm the worst packer ever and i don't think i have ever packed my own suitcase, i leave it in the capable hands of my hubby who i assume is so good at it after years of playing tetris!
I do always write a list of all the things i need to take especially my holiday clothes other wise i would end up with lots of cute dresses and shorts but not a single top.
I like to have quite a loud and bright suitcase as i always have a crazy panic that someone else will take it and I'll have no clothes to wear on holiday so i like to choose something like this

These suitcases are really light which means one thing, more room for clothes!

Clothes wise i like to pack things that won't end up too creased after however many hours folded up in the suitcase. If I'm off somewhere warm i pack a few dresses, shorts and some t-shirts along with some swimwear.
These are the type of dresses i would pack as they can be dressed up or down so you can wear them day or night.

A nice light jersey dress won't end up all creased and with some bright accessories would be perfect for  going out for dinner one evening. For only £16 I'd probably end up getting it in a few colours.

This cream polkadot dress will look great with a tan, i actually have this dress in blue and although I'm not going away this year I'll be wearing it with some big sunnies and sandals and dreaming I'm on holiday!

When you have as many pairs of shorts as i do you need a few different options for tops during your time away, especially if you have a habit of spilling your ice cream like me :)
These tops would be great and wouldn't take up too much suitcase room

If I'm buying new things for my holiday i try to buy things that i know I'll wear over and over again so that I'm not wasting any money. If you can't afford to buy a whole new holiday wardrobe then try to pack things from your existing wardrobe and just add a few accessories to brighten outfits up.

A great beach bag is a must and don't forget the sunnies and suntan lotion to go inside!
If you are going on holiday i hope you have a great time, bring me back an over the top souvenir and I'll love you forever :)

Plus size outfit day

It is that time again it's Plus size outfit day and the theme this month is "it's Christmas time". I really wasn't sure what to do for this months as we don't decorate the house or have a tree so i couldn't show you any of those things. I decided to show you the sort of thing i would wear on the day itself.
I'm lucky that the office i work in is closed for Christmas so i have 11 days off work, i plan to spend my time off relaxing with the Mr, watching films and obviously doing a bit of shopping!

So here is the outfit i chose, i wanted something that you could tell was for Christmas but that was also comfy and with some stretch. Because we all know with all that lovely food around on the day you need something with extra room :)

P1013249

I decided on this dress that i have had for a few years and my new cardigan, with my jewelled headband for that extra christmas sparkle.

P1013248

The cardigan is from Primark and was £14 i got it in the biggest size they do a 20 and it doesn't feel to small in fact the fit is really good. I wanted to get a Christmas jumper but couldn't find one and just when i had given up i spotted this cardigan. I really love the pattern at the top.

P1013251

The dress was is an old one from Dorothy Perkins in a size 20 it has stretch and it so comfy, It's the perfect dress to wear on Christmas day. It has pockets which will come in handy for a place for me to put all those Christmas chocolates!

P1013256

The headband I'm wearing is from Matalan and was £8 and the shoes are limited edition Irregular choice from a year  or so ago. I really love how the design goes over the two shoes on the scotty dog and his lead. I also added a homemade Christmas brooch, meet Mr polar bear.

P1013257

I felt this outfit was fitting for the Christmas theme without going over the top. I love it and hope you do too.

P1013260

Now go and check out the other lovely ladies and see what they did

When i like it i buy every colour

Yes its true when i find something that love i like to buy every version of it i suppose its a bit of an obsession but I'm sure I'm not the only one am i?!
I posted last week about buying this bag from Matalan

Now as I'm sure you know i love cats and animals so animal faced bags are a winner for me. Matalan tweeted me to let me know there was now a panda so of course i had to go it and have a look. So off out we went for a little shopping trip, I found the panda bag along with a few more that caught my eye.
Here's what i bought from Matalan and Primark

The panda and fox bag were £8 each and while i was in the bag section i spotted this horse clutch for a bargain of £8 (asos are doing a very similar one for £30 so its quite a saving!) I also bought a lovely headband which you have seen in this post again for £8.
These bags are so cute and are really soft too I'm already things of when i can take them out.
While i was out i went into Primark and bough a christmas cardigan for £14 and into Whsmith to pick up glamour for the free Nails inc polish.
Do you buy more than one of something if you really love it?
XOXO

It's mustard love

Today's outfit was one i wore out to lunch with the hubby, both the dress and cardigan are new and i couldn't wait to wear them.

Dress new look, Cardigan matalan, Brooch handmade

The dress is from New look i got it about 2 months ago but hadn't worn it yet. It was £22.99 and a size 22, the fit of this dress is perfect! It is knee length and is lined with the bird print chiffon over the top, it has a nice floaty effect and an elasticised waist with a belt too. The dress is sleeveless so great for the summer but with my cosy cardigan over the top it still works with the cooler weather.

P1013093

P1013094

I wore my over sized bow headband to keep my hair in place, and my new Matalan cardigan. I really love this cardigan, i wanted a mustard cardigan and was happy when i spotted this is Matalan in was the last one left and a size 20 so it was fate!

P1013088

The cardigan was £20 and a size 20 it fits me perfectly and i can fasten it all the way up too. It's quite a chunky knit so it keeps you really tasty and warm.

P1013085

I really love these two pieces together and i can see me getting a lot more wear out of the cardigan over the next few months and then the dress again in the summer too.
Have you bought anything recently ?
XOXO
