A Teatime Treat

On Saturday me and the Mr went out for dinner with friends it was great fun an nice to meet up with everyone again and go course have yummy food. Once the meal was over we headed home but i couldn't resist the urge to pop into Tesco and have a little look in the clothes section.
I spotted this gorgeous maxi dress and after trying it on i knew i had to have it.

The print is really pretty and its a lovely light silky material which will be great for summer. It was a bargain price for £16 and is available online here.

P1013818

The dress does come with a material tie belt but i took this off as i preferred it without, there is an elasticated bit just under your boobs away to give the dress shape too. I got the standard length dress but online they also have it in tall and petite which is great. I went for my usual size 22 which is a great fit with a little extra space.

P1013819

Tesco have lots of lovely maxi dresses in at the moment especially in the True range which covers sizes  16-28. This one is my favourite

I love maxi's and i doubt this will the the last one that i add to my wardrobe!
Do you find the clothes section in the supermarket calling your name?

Hope you all had a great weekend :)

Super soft spots

I was contacted recently and offered some things to review from Curvissa i chose a super cute strawberry vest which i blogged about here and a lovely red and white spotted cardigan.

The cardigan is super soft and a great fit. I asked for the 18-20 as i have the same cardigan in leopard print and i knew to size down. I can still fasten the 18-20 so its quite roomy which i love!

P1013794

I wore the cardigan with my white jersey dress which I've had for a few years from Tesco, tights are from Primark and shoes are Irregular Choice.

P1013795

This cardigan is available online here for £42 which might seem a little pricey for a cardigan but the quality is amazing and it really is worth the price, you will definitely get your wear out of it. I have worn both this one and the leopard print one several times and they keep there shape really well and  are lovely and snuggly. You can also get this is blue and white and it is available in sizes 14-32 which is a great size range.

P1013798

Its even snazzy inside! I cannot praise this cardigan enough i love it so much i really hope they continue to bring it out in many different prints.

Here are a few pieces from Curvissa that caught my eye

This is two dresses in one! What more could i ask for i love the floral print which will look lovely in the summer there is also a second layer under this which is another dress in blue stripes. Available here £69  in sizes 14-32.

I love this denim jacket, i used to live in mine when i was younger but when it no longer fit i could never find another that i loved as much, but i think i might have hit the jackpot here! Available here for £45 in sizes 14-32.

I love a pastel clouded pump for the summer and these are really cute. Available here in the sale from £15 also in white, black and yellow in sizes 3-10, the size range is fab i love that they have included the smaller and larger sizes as so many places seem to stick to 4-7.

After getting the strawberry print vest I'm looking for more to go with my shorts this summer and thought this was pretty i love the purple flowers. Available here for £22 in sizes 14-32.

Do you have a favourite piece from Curvissa?
I hope you all have a lovely weekend :)

A bit of beauty

I tend to use the nail polishes that i own and don't expand my collection unless i get some as a gift. I was very lucky recently and i won the lovely Beth's giveaway and in that i got some lovely polishes.

Then the lovely Lisa gave my a birthday gift with lots of lovely nail polishes in

So after getting all these you'd think i'd have enough polish to last a life time but the nail polish bug seems to have over come me !
While i was in superdrug the other day i picked up these Barry M polishes

Gelly Hi Shine in Satsuma & Textured polish
in Ridley Road

Red glitter polish & Pink Saphire glitter

Im sure its no surprise to anyone that while i was there i picked up 2 new lipsticks, I'm an addict I'm sure!
Traffc Jam & Blue Rose
I was lucky enough to get all of these on offer when i went into Superdrug, i have used the red lipstick and i must say it fab the colour is great and its lovely and soft on your lips i'd definitely recommend it and a bargain at  £1.99!
I also got some great bargains at Tesco the other week, not beauty related but i thought id share them,

Black faux fur collar £4, Blue angora beret £2.50
Purple angora beret £2.50
I'm not sure how to wear the beret so any tips would be welcomed thank you :)

Have you been buying any beauty bargains recently?

Sheer Floral

I went to visit my mum this weekend and needed to pick an outfit, i was having one of those days where you can see the clothes you have but can't image an outfit put together. I remembered i had this shirt which i bought with some birthday money last month.

The shirt was from Yours i am lucky enough to have a store close by so i can pop in to try things on before deciding if i want to buy them. This shirt drew my eye straight away the bright colours and the little hint of lace at the back.

P1013785

The shirt is from the Limited collection at Yours and is available online here, it was £28 and i decided after trying on a few sizes to go with the 24. I actually bought this shirt to wear tucked into my short shorts because it looks amazing with them! But today i wanted to be comfy and relaxed so i went with my trusty Tesco leggings.

P1013790

I love the open back and hint of lace i think it added and extra touch to the shirt. It hasn't showed up in the pictures but the shirt is sheer but i think because of the floral pattern it doesn't seem quite so see through.
Now obviously it pretty cold out so i did add my super comfy snugly cardigan over the top so i didn't freeze.

P1013782

I felt comfy in this outfit and that what i wanted for the day but I'll definitely be pairing the shirt tucked into my shorts in future as i think that looks so much better.
As always thank you so much for following and reading it means a lot to me :)
I hope your all having a great week
XOXO

Modern 60's

I was contacted recently by the lovely Fleur, who works for Most Wanted the lifestyle magazine for VoucherCodes.co.uk, and asked if i wanted to take part in a "how to wear" challenge. I couldn't wait to get involved and was given the theme of modern 60's. Now as I'm sure you know I'm more of a 50's girl but it was great excuse to challenge myself.
We were given a budget of £80 and asked if we could find 3 items or more to show or interpretation of the trend. I couldn't wait to get started and decided the first thing to do would be to do a bit of a google search to get some inspiration.
It didn't let me down and here are the 3 items i chose, i added items that i already owned too to complete the outfits.
First up i went for this dress from Asos curve, the shift style of the dress and bell sleeves made me instantly think 60's. I got the dress in a size 24 and it was £21, is made from a nice thick stretch and is almost a grey/green colour although in pictures it looks more grey.

P1013757

I wore this with white lace tights and flower ring from Primark and Irregular Choice heels.

Next up i decided to go with a more casual look but took inspiration from the collars that i had seen during my google search. I really liked the print of this tunic from Simply Be and i thought the crochet collar was so cute. I ordered this in a size 22, it has room so you might want to size down depending on the fit you want. This was £15.99 plus p&p and i did find a voucher code for a free polkadot umbrella so I'm prepared for those April showers!

P1013771

P1013765

P1013770

I wore the tunic with my Tesco leggings and Primark flats.

The last thing i bought was this gorgeous bright spot print dress from Lovedrobe. I had seen lots of bright prints and patterns so i decided my last piece should use this as inspiration. I ordered the dress in a 24 as i wanted less fitted look and its perfect. The dress was £40 plus p&p but first time orders get 10% off with code FIRST10 so that covered the p&p for me.

P1013775

P1013778
I can't have a outfit post without a crazy face!

I wore this dress with Primark earrings and tights and Irregular Choice heels.
My total came in at £79.49 and i can't believe what great pieces i got for that. Thank you again to VoucherCodes.co.uk for letting me get involved it was so much fun and i have 3 great items that I'm sure I'll wear again and again. Maybe the 60's is my era after all!

What do you think to my 60's looks?

Accessorise your way out of the crowd

I really love quirky jewellery i i think it's one of the best ways to stand out from the crowd. I enjoy wearing loud over the top accessories from time to time and i love how they can make an otherwise "safe" outfit more out there.
One of my favourite shops is Life's Big Canvas which is owned by the lovely Chloe. She sells and makes her own jewellery as well as stocking lots of other artists.
She very kindly sent everyone on her email subscription list a £5 gift code which was a very nice surprise. I have been stalking a few things on the site so it didn't take me long to have spent my voucher plus some!
Here's what i bought

P1013733

The first thing i added to my basket was the badger head brooch by Fox Bunting mine for £6.50. It is made from wool and stuffed so he is 3d. Isn't he lovely!?

P1013748

P1013751

The next thing to make its way into my basket was this beautiful necklace

P1013745

The bow is made from a page of a story book but had been treated so it keeps its shape as a bow. I must admit its much larger that i had imaged but that just makes it even better! This was in the sale for £12.50 and I'm really glad i snapped it up.

P1013744

P1013743

The last item i added to by basket was this squirrel brooch which i had looked at a few times but when i saw that if you spent over £20 delivery was free i added it in. The brooch was £8 but isn't on the site anymore. It was by Butterscotch and Beestings who's website is here if you wanted to have a look.

P1013755

I really love Life's Big Canvas every time you click onto the site or pop in store there are more fabulous things to look at and buy. It really is like a little cove of treasures.
Here are a few of my favourite pieces

I love the flowers and i think the bronze gives it a old fashioned look available here.

Button cuff available here.
It might not be Christmas but i love this reindeer necklace available here.

Whats you favourite piece from the shop?
XOXO

Spots and Dots

I was contacted recently and was offered the chance to review something from Vision Direct. I decided to go with this glasses case which you can also get in red and black.
I have been buying a few pairs of glasses recently that haven't come with a hard case so this review couldn't have come at a better time!

The case is a nice bright white and made from a soft smooth material, i have tried all my different glasses in it and it fits them all with space.
The inside is a cream colour and made from a soft felt like material so you don't need to worry about it scratching your lenses. The case snaps shut and it easily and is secure once its shut so your glasses won't fall out.

P1013721

P1013731

You can get this case from the website for £4.07 and you get free delivery too. I'd definitely recommend this case and plan on getting more in the different colours for my other glasses. Everyone needs a funky case to go with their glasses.
If you don't wear glasses but contact lenses then don't worry they have lots of those to choose from plus some really cute contact lens cases.
These are my favourites
Hippo shaped case for £3.05 get them here. How cute is it?!
XOXO

Item sent for review but all opinions are my own.
