Cosy with Curvissa

I was contacted recently by the lovelies at Curvissa who asked if i wanted to do a coat review with a few other bloggers, I'm always on the look out for something cute to keep me warm especially with all this cold weather we are having at the minute so i said yes and was sent this beauty to review.

I got this coat on Monday night and wore it the next day to work, i was so glad of it too as it was absolutely freezing outside and it kept me lovely and warm! Sorry for the quality of the pictures they were taken on my phone during my break at work as i wanted to show you the coat in daylight and i seem to be leaving home and returning in the dark at the minute.

 how beautiful is this coat?!
This beauty is available here
This coat is amazing I'm in love with it already and i can see it becoming my go to coat this winter. I went with a size 20 as i have had a few pieces from Curvissa in the past and find the sizing to be generous, so my advise would be to size down in this coat. The coat comes to my knees so its a really good length, i have a few faux fur jackets but i find my bum does get a bit chilly in this weather without any coverage!

The coat fastens with 3 hook and eyes and a button at the very top, i did find when i sat down they did come undone a few times but this might have been me rushing to fasten in on my way outside. The faux fur is really soft and quite thick and the arms are the perfect length for me as i tend to find with most coats i have lots of material left at the arm and they swamp my hands.

As you can see i can fasten up the coat with no issues or gaping and it was very cosy and comfortable to wear. This is available in either leopard print or black faux fur, it is priced from £140 but it is defiantly worth the money, the fur is soft and none of it has come off which has happened to a few of my faux fur jackets in the past. I'm totally in love with this coat its just perfect and something i will wear over and over again for lots of winters to come.
Check out the other ladies getting involved too,

XOXO

Snow Day

Last week the lovely Kieron asked on twitter if anyone would like to review some wellies and as we were having some pretty rubbish weather at the time i jumped at the chance.
I'll let you into a little secret i haven't owned a pair of wellies since i was about 10, I'm that girl that goes out in the rain and snow in nothing but a pair of ballet pumps, not one of my best decisions I'll admit!
Now after getting my hands on my first pair in 15 years i love them!

IMG_4428

I decided to go for this pair, having big calves ankle wellies are the way forward. This pair are really cute and at £16 a great price for a cute fun pair of wellies. I got these is a size 5 and the fit in the foot was great, i found them a little tricky to get on but maybe that's because I'm so out of practise.

IMG_4427

I thought these wellies went perfectly with my red dress from the fat swap and my thick black tights. As I'm sure you've noticed i got myself yet another pair of cat ears, these ones are faux fur earmuffs from Accessorize.

IMG_4424

These wellies are fab they are comfortable and keep you feet lovely and dry and have quite a good grip on the bottoms too so no slipping and sliding. Barratts have a great selection of wellies go and have a look if you haven't got yourself a pair for this winter, great prices and so much to choose from!
I've found a love for wellies now how about you ?

Simply perfect for every size

So what happens when a group of lovely ladies go sales shopping?! The answer, a great dress that 5 of us end up buying!
When we went sale shopping a few weeks ago our first stop was Simply Be where they had this lovely dress for the bargain price of £10. I had already seen the dress on Kathyrn a few months ago and i loved the print and the side detail. So it was the first thing i picked up in the shop.

P1013432

I got this dress in a size 24 as they didn't have any 22's left but i like the fit of the 24 on me. I wore this last night to go out for something to eat with the lovely Lolly and her Mr. As it was chilly out i added my new faux fur coat (and it was a good job as it started snowing!), which was another sale bargain from New Look at Christmas.

P1013507

The coat is a size 22 and was a bargain at £26 in the sale I'm so glad i managed to get my hands on it as i had admired it for ages.
I wore the dress with my red tights which are from M&S which i've had quite a while and shoes from Primark.

P1013512

The dress is really made from a really silky stretch material so its super comfy and i love the 3/4 sleeves. The length on me is good too it comes to just below my knee so when we finally get some warm weather it can be worn without tights and my faux fur.

P1013514

I have nothing like this in my wardrobe and i think the print is great for standing out from the crowds. The best part of this dress for me was the amazing price i got it for, when we went to the store it was 3 for 2 so me,Lolly and Becky put our dresses together to pay so instead of paying £10 we each only paid £6.60!!
I can't recommend this dress enough i love it and i felt really fab in it, so if you want a dress that makes you look and feel great this is it.
So you've seen me in the dress now check out these other lovely ladies who fell for this beauty too

I hope you all have a great weekend and the snow doesn't cause too much trouble. There is so much of it here and getting back from dinner last night was quite the task! I plan to spend the weekend inside keeping warm and reading what are you up to?

Sales spree

I was lucky to get quite a few things in the sales after Christmas and they were all real bargains! I thought I'd show you what i got, these are only shots of the prints as full outfit posts will come soon. In fact you have already seen 1 of my sales bargains in the twice as nice post.
First up some very me shoes, not only leopard print but with a cats face on too what more could you want?!

Below heart print playsuit, pink polkadot dress, blue and red spot dress, floral dress

Faux fur jacket (that i have wanted for ages!) vintage style dress, blue skater dress

And i decided to branch out on the leggings front and got some floral and leopard print ones.

So they were my sale bargains, all apart from the leggings and jacket were bought online as i didn't find much in the shops.
Do you prefer to shop online or in person?

Fatshionologie

So what is Fatshionologie i hear you ask well..
Fatshionologie is a blogger style challenge born out of a discussion on twitter in the hopes it would help to create new exciting content for our blogs as well as show that each new style "theme' can be rocked by a variety of different body shapes!

So this months theme was festive, i did struggle a little with what to do as i have posted a christmasy outfit before here so used up most of my festiveness.
For this post i decided to go for a more dressed up look,i did try to find a christmas jumper to wear but i couldn't find any :(
So here is what i wore

P1013296

I went for a dress I've had for a while i bought it last year from Tesco for about £16. Its a really nice dress its a thick jersey material with stretch i got this in a size 22 and i love how it fits.

P1013298

I paired it with my Irregular choice christmassy heels, black tights and my Torrid faux fur trim cardigan. I got the cardigan last year when i was in Florida and i love it, its so cosy with the faux fur trim around the neck. I don't remember the price but i got it in a size 3.
The necklace I'm wearing i made myself using a christams decoration i found in my local Tesco

I thought i would also share with you my hubby in his Xmas jumper made by yours truly. He wanted a garish christmas jumper but when we went looking they were either only available in extra small or small or over £30. So i got some crafting bits together and my glue gun and off i went. He is wearing this on his last day at work before we have holidays for christmas, i hoping he will win best jumper on his team!

So there was my festive looks i think the Mr looks much more festive than me!

It's cold outside

Last night me and the hubby went to see the late night showing of Silent Hill. I wanted to be comfy and warm as i always find the cinema to be chilly so i decided to wear my Evans collection faux fur coat. I bought this in the summer when it was really warm, i was thinking ahead and needed to add a black faux fur coat to my collection. I bought it in the sale and it was £25 reduced from £120! so it was a great bargain.

P1013177

The coat did come with a belt but it was broken but as the coat keeps you really warm you don't really need to close it but there are hooks if you did want to. I got the coat in a size 20 as it was the last one left and if fits great. The coat is really think and snug and i was all wrapped up in it while watching the film.
I wore my ruby rocks dress from ages ago last seen here, and my trusty Tesco leggings, i was really comfy and didn't get cold once, i felt like i had my duvet wrapped around me.

Silly late night faces!
How do you feel about faux furs do you have any?
Hope your having a great weekend

A bird print obsession

As you probably know i have a bit of a love for bird print and faux fur so for this outfit i combined the two. I hadn't spotted this dress on the Tesco website but when the lovely Kathryn tweeted a picture of her new dress and i saw this knew i needed to had it!
My lovely hubby bought it for me along with another dress from the True range and i couldn't wait to wear it.

I wore the dress with my faux fur stole from Style 369 last year and my Firmoo glasses, reviewed here. It fits really well another one that hugs your curves, its very similar to this Tesco dress i posted about recently.

P1013100

This dress is available online here in some sizes or you could try your local store as i find the bigger sizes are often in there when they have sold out online. The dress was £18 and for a great fitted lined dress i think that's a really good price. I bought this in a 22 and as you can see it is figure hugging but i like that.

P1013106

The dress had a nice side tie and a gathered detail to the side, the sleeves help to keep the chill of now it's getting colder and it's a nice length to wear with and without tights.

P1013107

I also wore my primark headband that i got a while ago i really love the swallow on it however while i was out it broke and the bird snapped off, hopefully i will be able to fix it with some glue.

P1013104

I just wore this to go over to my mums for a quick visit, it was really comfy to wear, i think it looked great and with the faux fur stole i was toasty warm.
How has your week been?

Who has all the faux fur?!

Well the answer to that is me ! I love the stuff i have quite a number of faux fur coats and jackets and a number of stoles. I went to the shipping center yesterday as the hubby wanted to visit the game shop, never one to shy away from a shopping trip i went along. I did have a nose around some of the clothes shops but wasn't very inspired to be honest i think the new Simply Be and Tesco dresses are so beautiful not much can come close.
We did however pop into Hotel Chocolat which is a shop i adore being a chocolate fiend. I bought myself some caramelised hazelnuts in milk chocolate and the hubby got some dark chocolate coffee beans and mocha chocolates.

After we'd got our hands on the chocolates i popped next door to Accessorize where i was very impressed they had a great selection and it was full to the brim with lovely faux fur goodies! Now i wanted to buy everything but i managed to be restrained and just picked up my two favourite things. Because my hubby is so lovely he agreed to buy me the muffler and the earmuffs too.
The lovely Amy or as you may know her smeeeff first tweeted about the wonderful faux fur earmuffs and as soon as she did i knew i needed them!
Both are available to buy from Accessorize if you like me are a lover of all things faux fur.
How do you feel about it love or hate the fake furry stuff?

What I've been buying

So I've had the past week off work and now I'm back boo hoo :( i thought I'd share with you what I've been buying and doing with my time. Me and the hubby went to see the midnight showing of Prometheus as he really wanted to see it, i really wasn't to fussed about seeing it but it turned out it wasn't so bad. Not a film I'd tell you all to rush out and watch but if there isn't anything else on its worth  the watch. Then we went off to see my mum and her dogs for cups of tea, bus and a catch up.
Tetley is the big guy in the front and you can just see
nescafe at the bottom
Ive also done a bit of cleaning and plenty of shopping! Last weekend my hubby made me another wardrobe and I've finally managed to organise them here they are i realise the organising my wardrobes means 1 i have too many clothes and 2 I'm a bit weird :)

Wardrobe 1 dresses
Wardrobe 2 faux fur, cardigans and vintage
Wardrobe 2 playsuits,jumpsuits,shorts,work dresses and
fancy frocks
Next onto my shopping trips i went into asda looking for a cardigan I'd seen online they didn't have it but i did end up buying the parrot print jumpsuit from my previous post and i ordered the cardigan online and got it yesterday.

I could only find the picture i'd put on istragram
so black and white it is
Next onto this lovely dress my hubby bought me from evans i don't have a picture of me in it but plan to blog it soon so here a sneak peek.

Then i went into primark and bought a few things that caught my eye
Velvet hangers the only ones i will use nothing slips
off them even silky stuff and they are really thin so you can
fit more in your wardrobe!

I really needed a white cami this is a 20 from primark for £2
and fits fine. I also got a lip stain to try £1.50 and a
real dark red

Jewellry i love the glasses necklace £2.50 and the ring
£2 reminds me of 90's video games

Lastly i got this bag reduced from £12 to £5 how cute is it?!

So thats what I've been up to have you done anything nice ? What have you been buying recently?
Ive decided that until the 24th of july I'm not buying anymore clothes i have plenty already so wish me luck ladies and gents !
XOXO

Day 27 - Inspired by your style icon

I don't really look at celebs or people in the public eye and think i want to dress like them. The person that i have always looked up to not just for style but in everyway is my nan. When i was younger i would spend at least half of my week at my nan and grandads as i went to school near their house. When i was younger my nan would always have a nice dress on and a cardigan, maybe this is where my dress and cardigan obsession came from, and a pair of heels. She always looked, and still does look great. On certain friday nights her and my grandad would go dancing and i went with them. I loved going with them to ballroom dancing everyone dressed up and my nan would wear her special dancing shoes, she had lots of different pairs and i enjoyed trying them all on and dressing up in her jewellery and faux fur. I think without meaning to i have taken several parts of her style and now wear it as my own. My nan had lots of shoes, dresses and cardigans and surprise surprise so do i. I took pictures of a few of the things that either remind me of my nan or are hers and i now own.
When i was young my nan would give my her handbag to carry my crayons and things
in it was just like this but burgundy i lost it moving when i was younger so i was very happy
when found this at the vintage fair

My nan always uses elnet and i can't smell it without being reminded of her
now its the only hairspray i use.

My nans brooch she gave me from her jewellery box
before i got married

I wore this one on my wedding day

I always remember my nan having a red dior lipstick and i loved how it smelt
now i own the same shade of red and purple although i don't think my nan
would wear that!

One of the things i always used to dress up in was my nans faux fur
so now i have several of my own and i love them

These are pearls from my nans jewellery box i was so happy as a
teenager when she gave me these and it started a bit of an obsession
as you can see below

So who's your style icon?
I hope your enjoying your weekend, thanks you for stopping by.
XOXO
