Live Fast Die Yum

I have had a few pieces from Black Heart Creatives which i adore so when i saw a tweet from them a few weeks ago asking if anyone wanted to review a piece from the Live fast die yum collection i got in touch. I'm a big fan of food related accessories so i couldn't wait to see the designs and when i finally did i might have let out a small (ok so pretty loud) squeak of excitement.

P3235602

I was sent Sweet Like Chocolate which is a pretty good match for me as i am quite a chocoholic! I was really impressed when it arrived it looked good enough to eat! Charlotte kindly sent me a discount code too for 25% off which is at the bottom of this post.

P3235596

As always the quality on the necklace is great and the little touches that Black Heart Creatives put into their pieces make them extra special. This necklace really reminds me of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the way the foil looks like its been folded back while someone took their fist bite.

P3235597

The necklace is a really good length for me long enough so i don't feel restricted but not so long that it spends the whole day bouncing from one boob to the other, this always happens to be when i wear a longer chain!

IMG_7940

As you can see from this picture i was pretty excited when it came!

IMG_7945

I really love Black Heart Creatives they make some amazing pieces from necklaces to brooches and earrings and if you want something unique they will custom make a piece for you too. I already have my eye on my next purchase which will be the Good Burger necklace as anyone who knows me knows how much i love a good burger!
You can use discount code dress25 to get 25% off your order (this code is valid for 1 week)  so what are you waiting for check out the website and find your favourites.

Denim Dream

I was contacted recently by Fashion World and asked if i wanted to review some items from the new Claire Richards collection. There are some really cute pieces in the collection so of course i said yes, but this time i really waned to try something that i would never usually even try on never mind buy. So i went for jeans, i haven't worn a pair of full leg jeans in about 5 years and even then i never wore skinny jeans so i decided to really push the boundaries.

P1255251

I went for the lace jersey top and i was sent this bag to finish off the look. I'll start with the bag first, it isn't something i would choose myself as i have this fear of spiked items and that if left in my vicinity long enough one will end up in my eye. And believe me i am clumsy enough for this to happen! The bag is great though its really roomy with lots of pockets and it feels like a really sturdy bag too.

P1255253

Now onto these jeans, they are perfection!! I asked for these in a 22, having not bought jeans in a while i just asked for the size i would in a dress. The 22 fits me and i can fasten them but they are on the snug side, however i think that the 24 would have been too big and wouldn't have given the skinny fit look.

P1255265

These jeans have stretch to them, are high waisted and were really comfortable to wear. Length wise these are great for me they are a little gathered when i have flats on like here but i like that and i means that i can wear them with heels too.

P1255260

I decided as I'd gone for the jeans that i would choose this jersey top as i thought they would look great together, and i think they do. The top is a size 22 and has plenty of room in it, so you can get your normal size and it will fit great. What i really loved about this top is the sleeves, the lace pattern really stands out on the arms. I already have plans to wear this with my shorts in the summer as the top is really light.

P1255264

I really love all the parts of this outfit and will definitely be wearing them again together and separately. I want to say a big thank you to Fashion World for giving me the chance to review the pieces and to  find what i think might be the most perfect jeans ever!

XeLence

I was contacted recently and asked if i wanted to review Charnos XeLence tights. They are specially designed to fit up to a size 32 and have a specially designed panel on the thigh area to stop chafing which i always a good thing!

I'm not going to lie i was a little sceptical but I'm always looking for new tights that fit well and are comfortable. I was sent the tights in medium shape which is sizes 22-26 and do you know what? They are a dream, true to size and super soft. They are seriously great tights!

PC085140

I usually have to size up in tights and then sometimes even the 28-32 don't fit, there is nothing worse than putting tights on only for them to stop at your knees, or they rip as you try to put them on. This has happened to me on more occasions than i can count which leaves me annoyed and out of pocket.

PC085139

Both the black and nude tights are 15 denier so they are really light and you don't feel like you are wearing anything. The panels over the thighs are slightly thicker and make them really comfortable to wear.

PC085117

The tights have a really soft waist band and it doesn't dig into your skin like other tights that I've had before. The nude tights are a good match for my skin, i was worried they might end up being an overly tanned colour but they are really great .

PC085108

PC085112

These tights are £7 and for the quality and fit they are so worth it! The have 3 size ranges available:
Light shape - 16-20
Medium shape 22-26
Full shape 28-32
These are true to size i usually wear a 22/24 on the bottom and these tights fit me and would easily fit me at a size or two bigger. There are other styles available in the range including 50 denier, spot print and knee highs!
The range will be released soon and i for one can't wait to get my hands on some of the other styles especially the spot ones which are super cute and i might even give some knee highs a go!
Thanks to Charnos for sending me the tights to review its always great to find a product that actually does what it says on the tin!

Cosy Cat Lady

I was contacted recently by Just Curvy who asked if I'd like to review a piece from the website, i had been doing a bit of internet window shopping so i already knew the piece i would pick. You all know me and my love of cats by now, so as soon as i saw this jumper i knew i needed it in my life.

PB245050

The jumper has the cutest cat on it and it even had the back legs and tail on the back which i love!

PB245046

I decided to wear this with my Dorothy Perkins leopard skirt to work last week. The jumper was really comfy and kept me warm, i did add a thin cami underneath as it was particularly chilly on the day. I was sent a 24/26 in this jumper and it just fits me so i would say it is on the small side. The main reason for this is the stitching at the bottom which is quite tight without much give, i just tucked this bit back underneath the jumper and it was fine for me.

PB245042

The jumper has small sequins stitched in all over the jumper so it shimmers when you catch the light and looks really pretty. You can buy the jumper online here for £29.99 its a must for any of you cat ladies out there!

PB245044

As a major cat lady there was no way i wasn't going to choose this jumper but i also fell pretty hard for this skirt which i think would look amazing on, the print is fabulous! And for £14.99 it not going to break the bank either.

If you haven't tried Just Curvy yet give them a try they have lots of cute pieces on the site and all at really reasonable prices.

Pretty Pretty Petticoat

I'm sure you have seen my previous post about the lovely package Taking Shape sent for me recently and today i have the last piece to review. I was sent this lovely tulle petticoat now i already own a white petticoat that i got to go with a dress but I've only worn it twice as i have more things that black goes with.

PB035027

I was excited to see how the petticoat would look and if i would be able to wear it as a skirt, its great under fit and flare dresses and below the knee on me so perfect for you taller ladies! I did really want to wear it as a skirt but on its own it was a little see through and thin, of course it was going to be as its meant to be worn under clothes, but you know me always got to break the rules.

PB035016

So i decided to wear it over my existing white petticoat and i love the result. Lots of fullness in the skirt and you can't see my knickers so bonus!
I wore this with a spotty vest top from tesco and my Beth Ditto belt to cover the top of the petticoat, i really love how this looked and i plan to wear this as a skirt as well as under dresses to add fullness.

PB035020

I think the petticoat as as skirt would be perfect for a night out or a party to make your outfit a bit extra special. I got this skirt in a size 22 and it fits with room as the waist is elasticated i think at full stretch it could easily fit a 24 maybe a 26 depending on your shape.

PB035022
Caught mid twirl

The top of the petticoat is made from a silky material so your dress will sit nicely over the petticoat and not bunch up. The bottom of the skirt has a double layer of tulle to give volume and with my other petticoat underneath too it was perfect!

PB035026

I'm so thankful to Taking Shape for giving me the chance to review these items for them i have been really pleased with everything they sent, the fit and quality is amazing, these are pieces that will last you seasons and still look as good as they did the day you first tried them on.  If you haven't checked out the website what are you waiting for heard over there !

Cut Out Cutie

As I mentioned in Mondays post I got some pieces sent from the lovelies at Taking Shape, I reviewed the lovely Portland coat on Monday which I loved, today's piece is the cut out tunic.
This tunic is my favourite piece I really love it!

PB035005

The tunic is made from a stretch material and is designed to be non fitted although if you wanted that look you could just size down. I was sent the XL which is the equivalent to a 22 and it has a looser fit, to be honest I think I could have got the L and it would still have fit with room, the tunic is very generously cut. What I really love about this tunic is the cut out on the bottom I think it's really cute and adds some sass to what other wise might just be a basic black tunic.

PB035008

Now you could wear the tunic with some bright skinny jeans or colourful legging to really make the cut out detail shine or you could add some short shorts like me. i thought id show you both looks so here i am with an without the leggings.

PB035002

When I first put this on I thought what a cute dress and that's how I intended to wear it but the cut out detail meant there was a chance I'd be flashing some bum so I added shorts underneath which I think work perfectly.

PB035011

I'll definitely be rocking this tunic with shorts for the summer and night out on the town. While the weather is a bit chillier I'm thinking that colourful leggings are the way to go.

PB035014
Not sure where this pose came from but hey i like it !

PB035013
Back view
I adore this tunic and I think it's one of those pieces that could be dressed up or down depending on how you accessories it. Another great thing about Taking Shape is that they have free next day delivery if you order before 4pm how amazing is that?! I know how may of you myself included hate to have to pay for shipping.
Have you had chance to check out Taking Shape yet, do you have your eye on anything?

Taking Shape

I came home last week to a lovely package from Taking Shape full of amazing pieces, so I'm going to show you them over the next week or so.

For those of you who haven't heard of Taking Shape they are an Australian based brand who are just starting out here in the UK. They are currently opening stores around the country and have a UK website
Before I was contacted by them I hadn't heard of the brand but I'm glad they got in touch as they have so much to offer and it's always good to see a new plus size brand, well new to the UK as it's been running for 28 years so they have plenty of experience! I was sent a few items to review but rather than cram them all into one post I wanted to split them up so you can see everything at it's best.
First up is this gorgeous red Portland coat.

PB034991

I really love this coat, it going to be perfect for the cold and snowy winter. It's quite a heavy coat when you pick it up but not so much when your wearing it. It has a hood so no wet and running hair for me! And it has press studs as well as the toggle fastening.

PB034994
The hood isn't this high but my bun is making it look huge!
This coat is really warm and it will be my go to on super cold days as it's just like being back under the duvet!

PB034993

I was sent this coat in a 22 and I have to say the fit is spot on, I can fasten the coat up without any gapes or pulling which usually happens to me. Its even got a cute check lining so its super soft inside too.

PB034999

This is a really lovely coat and you can tell it has been made well too so it will last you several winters.
Check out the Taking Shape website  there is plenty of different styles on there so have a good browse through I'm sure you will find something you like. And if you like to go in store to do your shopping check out the store locator to see if there is one near you.

Everyone Loves A Parka

PHow is it Monday morning already ?! I hope you have all had a great weekend mine has been filled with fun, friends and maybe a little bit of shopping.
I was contacted last week and asked if i wanted to review a coat for Simply Be, i had a long browse through the site and found quite a few coats that i liked but i decided to go for something that i have always loved from afar but never thought wold suit me.
I decided to go for a parka and chose this one in khaki but you can get it in blue too. I went for the khaki as i saw it as a more traditional parka style. I was a little worried that it maybe wouldn't suit me but i shouldn't have as soon as i put it on i fell in love.

PA064897

The coat is quite light weight but is quilted inside so keeps you lovely and warm and there is also fur lining the hood and half way down the front under the zip area. I went for a size 22 which is my usual size and the fit is perfect, there is enough room for a jumper underneath.
I wanted to show you the coat with more than one outfit so i added it to my denim shorts and tshirt, i would wear this open when i needed something that would keep me a little warmer than just a a cardigan and it has a hood which is perfect for me as my hair will run in the rain!

PA064895

PA064902

The coat comes down past my bum and is really comfy to wear, it has pockets that fasten with studs and a drawstring on the waist so you can create a waist if you wish. I had left mine loose as i like the look of the coat that way.

PA064910

For the second outfit i added my new boots, which i am so in love with and will be in a post later this week, my squirrel tunic and leggings.
I think the parka loves amazing with these boots and i didn't actually want to take this off, the hubby commented on how nice my outfit was too.

PA064908

I seriously don't have a bad word to say about this coat, it is perfect! Once the colder weather sets in i will be getting so much use out of this coat, although i love my faux fur sometime i need something a bit less bear like and i most definitely need a hood for when it rains or my face will turn purple!
If you want to get your hands on the perfect parka then you can get it here.

A Chilly Spring

The weather in the UK has been awful these past few months and when we all thought it was time to pack away out winter coats along comes more snow and freezing winds!
I have a lot of faux fur coats but only one of the non furry kind so when i was contacted by Dan from Be Inspired to ask if i wanted to try a coat i jumped at the chance.
I decided to go with a beautiful black and purple double breasted coat, the description said animal print, but its quite a muted animal print so its not as in your face.

I chose this coat because i loved the colours and it was advertised as a soft touch wool mix so i hoped it would be soft and snuggly and i wasn't disappointed!
This coat is so soft its lovely to feel and had a nice black lining. It is perfect for all the rubbish weather we seem to be having at the minute.

P1014044

This coat is a great length and comes to mid thigh on me, it has button fastening to the front and it also came with a black belt if you want to give it a more defined shape. I would never usually belt a coat but i really like how this one looks belted.

P1014048

I was sent this coat in a size 24 i asked for a size above my usual because i always have a problem with fastening coats around my boobs but this one had loads of room and i really didn't need to size up. The arms on the coat were a little long for me but this may have been due to me sizing up as well as the fact i seem to have tiny arms!

P1014049

You can get this coat here for £18.99 that's an amazing price if you ask me I've seen coats a lot more expensive than this and much lower quality. This coat is defiantly worth its money and more, its really well made and you can tell it will last a good few winters or if the weather carries on maybe summers too.

P1014050

I wore the dress with my asos body con you saw in Mondays post, and black tights and heels. I also added the little cat brooch which my hubby bought me a few years ago.
I had never heard of Be Inspired before they contacted me but I'm so glad they did because i know where I'll be looking the next time a need a cute coat or jacket.
Here are a few of my favourites from the site

I love this spot print coat this one only goes up to a 20 but might fit a 22/24 depending on if you wanted to close it and only £19.99.

This coat is really classic and i love the faux fur collar again £19.99 and up to a size 24.

My final pick is this coat which is £24.99 in sizes 24-28.
Take a look at the website I'm sure you'll find something that you like and its free Uk delivery too.
Have to have to keep your winter coat out?
XOXO
