Bargain Biker

A few weeks ago i popped into the Simply Be store in the White rose to have a browse and to try on a few pieces I'd seen online which i posted about here. This leopard biker jacket had been on my radar for a while but i wasn't sure on the fit so i wanted to try it on first and luckily they had it in store. I fell in love with the jacket and was going to buy it but remembered i had a 10% off code at home so decided to wait and buy online, I'm really pleased i did as it was down to £25 instead of £50 online.

P5185734

I sized down and went for a size 20 as i waned a fitted jacket when it was open but i can still fasten it all they way up as there is some stretch to the material. However if you want to be able to layer up under it then i would advise to get your normal size.

P5185738

I wore this with my Claire Richards jeans, which i know you have seen many times before but i honestly love them so much! The polkadot peplum is from last years sale at New Look. I really like this jacket it's very easy to wear and looks super cute with dresses too. Because of the stretch in the material it isn't restrictive to wear either.

P5185745

The sleeves on the jacket are 3/4 length and flare out a little towards the bottom which i think adds a little extra touch to an already fabulous jacket. The animal print is a soft velvet like flocked print i did try to get a picture although it doesn't really show it in full.

P5185732

I'd recommend this jacket to anyone who like me loves a bit of animal print and is after something a little different. I don't usually buy much white clothing as i tend to spill food, more so when I'm wearing something that will stain easily but I'm crossing my fingers i can manage to keep this stain free. So if you see me wearing this jacket and a bib then you know why!
I hope your all having a great weekend and if your off this bank holiday have a great one :)

Pop In Pink

Today's post is an outfit i wore out with the Mr last week when we went to do a bit of shopping, i had bought this Simply Be jacket after seeing it on Lisa and i new i had to have it. I hadn't had chance to wear it and i really wanted to so it was the start of my outfit.

P4065625

This jacket is a size 22 and fits perfectly there is room if you want to layer it but its doesn't look baggy without. On the website the jacket looks a more dusty pink but in real life is bright and vibrant and in your face! It has amazing 3/4 sleeves that are slightly gathered, and its made from a really soft jersey so it doesn't restrict you at all.

P4065622

I decided to wear my bargain New Look denim skirt which i got in the sale for £7. The skirt was really comfy and easy to wear as i walked around the shops. I thought the pink really popped against the black skirt as you can see from the picture below i really love this outfit.

P4065629

I really wasn't sure what top to wear with this outfit then i spotted this peplum flamingo print top that Lisa had given me. She had got it for herself but wasn't wearing it so very kindly gave it to me, we often swap clothes and accessories its great to have friends you can swap things with when you no longer wear them. I decided to tuck the peplum in as i thought it looked better with the outfit.

I couldn't mention the Mr and not include him in my post so here he is looking super handsome.

And as its been a while i thought I'd include some outtakes. Here i am grabbing my boobs although I'm not sure why! and the Mr doing his hand on hip looking away blogger pose.

Leopard Shots

As anyone who knows me knows i have been wanting a pair or leopard print shorts forever! well eBay finally came to my rescue when i spotted these forever21 leopard shorts. I bid on them and won them for £3.20 so they were quite the bargain!

PB024981

I wore these shorts as soon as they came through the door i loved them so much! These are a 3xl the largest size forever21 do in their plus size range and fit me perfectly but there isn't much room so i would say the 3xl in these is about a 22.

PB024983

I love how the leopard print is heart shaped in some places, they are literally the cutest shorts ever! I wore these with my New Look peplum top i got in the sale for £4 and some tights from Tesco. The whole outfit cost me no more that £10 what a bargain!!

PB024986

I love eBay and the way that generally if you keep looking your leopard print dreams will come true ;) Well mine did and i couldn't be happier than i am with these shorts. This pair of shorts is the first thing I've ever bought from forver21. I'm not sure if I'd buy from them again as i think their sizing might be a bit small  for me most of the time but if a bargain comes up again on eBay then i might be tempted.

Peplum Love

Just a quick ootd today. Now I know peplums are a bit marmite aren't they but I love them! A few weeks ago when we went shopping to Doncaster I picked up this peplum top in the New Look sale.It was only £4 so a total bargain and I wore it to work last week with my Dorothy Perkins leopard print skirt.

PA274929

The top is a 24 and maybe a little big but for £4 I'm not complaining. It's made from a jersey material so you don't need to size up. The skirt is a 20 from Dorothy Perkins and now it's been worn a few times it's lost some of it's tightness so I would advise to size down in the skirt so it keeps the body con style.

PA274937

I think the peplum with the pencil skirt goes really well and I'll definitely be rocking this top with shorts too.
I'm well and truly a peplum girl how about you?

Polkadot Peplum

There hasn't been too many outfit post recently as I've not really been wearing much and when i have its been mainly the same things. This is one of the outfits that i seem to be wearing a lot recently, i wore it first to Lisa's birthday picnic and since then I've wore it a few more times and i love it!

P1014634

I did look more put together for Lisa's picnic but the rest of the time I've looked like this, messy hair pulled into a top knot and no make up at all. The top was from the sale rack in New Look and was only  £4 what a bargain?!
I know some people don't love the peplum but i think its cute and i love how this top looks with my shorts. The shorts are also from New Look a few months ago.

P1014630

You can't see what they say but the badges are my 'i love fat men' and 'i love beards' badges from Funki Munki Badges. This outfit is perfect for the warm weather and is really comfy to wear too. I wish i could get this top in other prints because its perfect with these shorts.

Thanks for reading I have so much to show you over the next few weeks i can't wait! So many cute outfits :)
Have a great weekend.

Go to Garments

With fashion trends constantly changing, fading and re-emerging on both the catwalks and the high street, it can often be difficult to keep up with latest looks. Moreover, as these trends can often be tailored to specific shapes and sizes, from plus size clothing UK trends to tall or petite looks of the season, it can be a struggle to know what will work for your own body shape.
Fear not, as there are some must-have-items of the year which are here to stay, and, more importantly, look fabulous on every figure. Read on for a quick guide to the best go-to garments which work for every shape, and should definitely be a staple in every woman’s wardrobe this year.
The Blazer
The blazer is an absolute must-have for every occasion. From oversized boyfriend blazers and androgynous tuxedo styles to cute, cropped jackets, the blazer is a versatile buy which works for every shape, every season and every outfit. If you’re dressing for an evening out and you want to show off your curves, then why not go for a cropped black blazer with a pencil skirt and some platforms? The cropped look will help to create a gorgeous silhouette and make you look confident and glamorous as you nail the pencil trend as well. Alternatively, if you’re a petite woman, for spring you could try an oversized white blazer with a pair of linen shorts, a chiffon shirt and a pair of wedged heels. This look will elongate your legs and make you look taller, while creating a sophisticated, fresh look for the season.
The Midi
The midi dress is a great garment which can be done in a range of ways. If you don’t feel confident in a maxi or a mini dress, the midi is the perfect alternative as the length works to complement height as well as body shape. For an effortless, elegant look, try a straight shift style which brushes down to the calves and pair with some court shoes to lengthen the legs by making the ankles look shapely. Alternatively, a skater style midi dress will create a gorgeous womanly form by cinching in the waist and emphasising the hips with the contours of the skirt. You can also try different necklines to suit your bodice shape. For example, turtle-necks will look chic without over-emphasising your top half while deep v-necks and a supportive bra will work wonders for your cleavage.
The Peplum
The peplum trend has made a name for itself with its flexibility and femininity. Perfect for the office, a light lunch, an evening dinner out and even a day spent running errands. The shape layers over the stomach or hip areas, depending on the style so if you are conscious of those areas this is the perfect style for you. The forties-inspired style looks great on tops, dresses and skirts, and is a fashion-forward look for every figure.
There you have it: three go-to-garments which work to complement the modern woman and the various shapes and sizes that she comes in. Get trying on now and find out what works for you just in time for spring!
Do you have any go to garments?
