Acid Wash and Polka Dots

As you saw I'm my last post i fell in love with these Simply Be jeans and had to have them in every colour! So today I'm showing you the indigo acid wash ones, these were the first pair i bought and have me totally in love with the "Rosie" style. The fit is great and they really do hug you which i love. My advise on these jeans is to size down one size for a great fit as there are generous with plenty of stretch.

P2016340

I wore this outfit last week when me and the Mr went to five guys for burgers, which i must add are the best burgers I've ever eaten. These jeans are comfy to travel in and you don't get that dig in at the waist which I've had with other jeans before. Length wise they are a little long for me but only about an inch or two.

P2016337

I decided to wear these with my Simply Be jacket which i got a month or so ago.  This blazer is quite thin with some stretch so you can easily size down in this, i went with a 20 and there is still room to add a thicker top underneath if you wanted to. I've been after a polka dot blazer for ages and this one is perfect and it has long sleeves too which is good for the colder months.

As i wanted to add a bit of colour i decided to wear my leopard print top which is also from Simply Be but no longer available. I really loved how this outfit all came together and i love the clash of leopard print and polka dots.

Has anyone else tried the Rosie jeans yet?

Leeds Pride

Its been a few weeks since Leeds Pride but i wanted to share my outfit with you from the day. This whole outfit has come from New Look inspire. It was nice weather for Leeds Pride but as i had to set off at 8am that morning i took a jacket as i wasn't sure what it would be like later in the day.

P8105952

This jacket is a size 18 i had to size down by two sizes to get the fit that i wanted. If you want this to be a more oversized jacket then you could always go for your usual size. They had loads in store so if they don't have your size online you could always try your local New Look.

P8105956

The jacket is really thin so you won't overheat in it and it you are going away and want to take a jacket this would be perfect. The jacket doesn't have any pockets which is a little disappointing but the cut and bright floral design more that make up for that.

P8105964

I wore my acid wash shorts which are no longer online and this cute leopard print vest i got last year. The short are a size 20, i had to size down to get them to be fitted due to the stretch material. These are really comfy they are made from the softest material ever!

P8105959

The vest is a size 24 and is a good fit for me. It has a nice gold detail around the neckline which is what made me want it last year. I think the leopard and the floral from the blazer went really well together. I also wore a pair of bright pink pumps which i ended up having to throw away, i think i danced the soles right off!
I took lots of pictures on the day which you may have seen if you follow me on instagram if not and you want to follow me you can find me here.

Blazer Love

I have recently rekindled my love of blazers, when i was younger i wore a blazer with jeans every chance i got although if you asked me to wear my school one that was a big no no! So when Yours Clothing asked me to pick a few items and i spotted this blazer i fell in love.

P4275695

This blazer is a lovely soft jersey material, which is my preferred material as it moves with you and doesn't feel as restrictive as others made from a more structured material. I was sent this in a size 22 and this fit is great.

P4275689

The sleeves are 3/4 ones which i really like, as i do have a massive love for my forearms. And i love the polkadot cuff at the end of the sleeves, i think it makes a plain black blazer stand out. You can also get this blazer with an animal print cuff which i love too. At £35 it's around the price you would pay for a blazer from most shops but its worth the money as i think they go with everything especially shorts!

P4275691

I wore this with my jeans and leopard print tee and i felt fabulous. Blazers always make me feel smartly dressed and this outfit was definitely a winner for me ! If you want to get your hands on this beauty then its available online here

Pop In Pink

Today's post is an outfit i wore out with the Mr last week when we went to do a bit of shopping, i had bought this Simply Be jacket after seeing it on Lisa and i new i had to have it. I hadn't had chance to wear it and i really wanted to so it was the start of my outfit.

P4065625

This jacket is a size 22 and fits perfectly there is room if you want to layer it but its doesn't look baggy without. On the website the jacket looks a more dusty pink but in real life is bright and vibrant and in your face! It has amazing 3/4 sleeves that are slightly gathered, and its made from a really soft jersey so it doesn't restrict you at all.

P4065622

I decided to wear my bargain New Look denim skirt which i got in the sale for £7. The skirt was really comfy and easy to wear as i walked around the shops. I thought the pink really popped against the black skirt as you can see from the picture below i really love this outfit.

P4065629

I really wasn't sure what top to wear with this outfit then i spotted this peplum flamingo print top that Lisa had given me. She had got it for herself but wasn't wearing it so very kindly gave it to me, we often swap clothes and accessories its great to have friends you can swap things with when you no longer wear them. I decided to tuck the peplum in as i thought it looked better with the outfit.

I couldn't mention the Mr and not include him in my post so here he is looking super handsome.

And as its been a while i thought I'd include some outtakes. Here i am grabbing my boobs although I'm not sure why! and the Mr doing his hand on hip looking away blogger pose.

Piercings and Partying

Two weeks ago now me and Lisa went into Sheffield to have catch up, and few drinks and to get pierced. I had decided a few months ago that i wanted to get my tragus pierced so off we went to blue banana in Sheffield who i have been pierced by before. They are really nice and chatty and get everything done super fast.

After piercings we went and had a browse at the vintage fair that was in town and then off to the pub we went. I had a great day and night and lots of dancing was done as always when me and Lisa get together. Here is what i wore when i went out, again i am rubbish and didn't get a picture before we left for Sheffield in the morning so i recreated my outfit here,

P3155513

Firstly i know you have been seeing a lot of this jacket recently but i am completely in love with it and its so easy to wear! I wish Tesco would bring it back out in other colours so i could buy more of them.  I have been desperately searching for something similar to this jacket so i can mix it up a bit but so far i haven't found anything.

P3155516

I decided to wear a shirt and shorts which i hadn't worn before but i thought they looked super cue together. The shirt is from New Look Inspire last summer and is a size 24 as i needed to size up to get it to close over my boobs. I really like this shirt the only negative about it was that a few of the buttons gape even though there is no tension in the shirt, it was happening over baggy part which i found very odd. However i could just sew the shirt up and leave the top few buttons so i can get it on and off.

P3155524

Now lets talk about these shorts, i adore them! I bought these shorts from the Angela Ribbons collection at Simply Be along with this pair that i have already blogged about here. They were my birthday gift to myself and I'm so glad that i got them as i love both pairs so much. These are a size 22 and a perfect fit, there is even a little room. They are a little longer and not as fitted as the other pair, they also have this really great detail around the sides at the bottom.

P3155530

These shorts are made from a thicker denim than the other pair and aren't as stretchy however they have a small stretch panel at the waist which helps keeps them comfy after a big dinner. Simply Be have come up trumps again for me with these shorts.

Go to Garments

With fashion trends constantly changing, fading and re-emerging on both the catwalks and the high street, it can often be difficult to keep up with latest looks. Moreover, as these trends can often be tailored to specific shapes and sizes, from plus size clothing UK trends to tall or petite looks of the season, it can be a struggle to know what will work for your own body shape.
Fear not, as there are some must-have-items of the year which are here to stay, and, more importantly, look fabulous on every figure. Read on for a quick guide to the best go-to garments which work for every shape, and should definitely be a staple in every woman’s wardrobe this year.
The Blazer
The blazer is an absolute must-have for every occasion. From oversized boyfriend blazers and androgynous tuxedo styles to cute, cropped jackets, the blazer is a versatile buy which works for every shape, every season and every outfit. If you’re dressing for an evening out and you want to show off your curves, then why not go for a cropped black blazer with a pencil skirt and some platforms? The cropped look will help to create a gorgeous silhouette and make you look confident and glamorous as you nail the pencil trend as well. Alternatively, if you’re a petite woman, for spring you could try an oversized white blazer with a pair of linen shorts, a chiffon shirt and a pair of wedged heels. This look will elongate your legs and make you look taller, while creating a sophisticated, fresh look for the season.
The Midi
The midi dress is a great garment which can be done in a range of ways. If you don’t feel confident in a maxi or a mini dress, the midi is the perfect alternative as the length works to complement height as well as body shape. For an effortless, elegant look, try a straight shift style which brushes down to the calves and pair with some court shoes to lengthen the legs by making the ankles look shapely. Alternatively, a skater style midi dress will create a gorgeous womanly form by cinching in the waist and emphasising the hips with the contours of the skirt. You can also try different necklines to suit your bodice shape. For example, turtle-necks will look chic without over-emphasising your top half while deep v-necks and a supportive bra will work wonders for your cleavage.
The Peplum
The peplum trend has made a name for itself with its flexibility and femininity. Perfect for the office, a light lunch, an evening dinner out and even a day spent running errands. The shape layers over the stomach or hip areas, depending on the style so if you are conscious of those areas this is the perfect style for you. The forties-inspired style looks great on tops, dresses and skirts, and is a fashion-forward look for every figure.
There you have it: three go-to-garments which work to complement the modern woman and the various shapes and sizes that she comes in. Get trying on now and find out what works for you just in time for spring!
Do you have any go to garments?
