Jewel Street

I was contacted recently by Jewel Street and asked to review their site and a piece of jewellery from it.  The site was really easy to use and there are plenty of designers to choose from, there really is something for everyone on there! It took me quite a while to decide which piece to choose but I was able to narrow it down by designer and by type of jewellery so I could see everything available to me.

The site has jewellery to suit every pocket from affordable pieces to high end expensive ones all as beautiful and well thought out as each other. I finally made my decision and went with the Aquarius rose gold necklace from Astrid & Miyu. It is a really beautiful necklace and it features my birthstone too which I thought was a lovely touch.

Unfortunately the necklace is too small for me to wear comfortably as I like them loose. The necklace didn't have the length in the description so I didn't know it wouldn't fit which is a little disappointing. I'm sure if you contacted the boutique about an item they could give measurements and maybe even increase or decrease the length for you. It's worth asking before you buy to avoid any disappointment.

The necklace itself is beautiful, it's a simple necklace that will go well with everything you wear. The rose gold and amethyst go so well together and the colour really pops against your skin.

Overall my experience with Jewel Street was a good one and although the necklace didn't fit I will know next time to get the measurements for an item before I order it. They even send a polishing cloth and a ring sizer which i thought was fabulous as i never know what size ring i am.
If your looking for a treat for yourself or someone special then Jewel Street is the perfect place to look.

Bits and bobs

No outfit post from me today i thought id just do a little post on what I've been doing (apart from working) and buying recently. I have bought a few random bits that don't really fit in with other posts as i've just bought them on a whim while me and the mr have been out an about.

If you follow me on twitter you've probably already seen this, but while i was in toys r us ( for the mr not me ) i spotted a cute plush adipose from Dr Who. He's so cute and the perfect plush for me!
I have also picked up a few beauty bits over the last few weeks firstly my lovely mr treated me to a new dior lipstick.

I love the colour of this it's a more pink red than the others that i have. Dior lipstick will always remind me of my nan i think that's why i love it so much.
I also decided to give the MUA heaven and earth eyeshadow palette a go. It was £4 from superdrug a great bargain.

I have wanted some dry conditioner for ages but i didn't want to pay the £12 price tag for the percy and reed one i'd seen on asos. I looked in boots and superdrug and couldn't find any then i went into tesco on the off chance and what did i find?! Dry conditioner for £1.50 per tin and on offer at 3for2 so i did what any sensible person would have done and i bought 12.

Ive been spending my spare time with the mr and friends but i've also tidied up my dressing room and re organised my wardrobes so expect so new items on my sales blog next week.
Nice and neat
Ive also bought myself some brooch backs from ebay to make some brooches for myself. I'll still be buying them but i quite enjoy making things for myself and mostly i haven't seen other people wearing them.

I even made a pin for my mr, meet terry

And to help me on my way the mr bought me the tatty devine jewellery book. I can't wait to make the glasses necklace!

So that's all from me :) what have you lovely people been up to ?

Day 22 - A piece of clothing/jewellery that was a gift

I don't really ask people to buy me clothes as a gift as i like to try them on and I'm too impatient to wait for an occasion to be bought a dress that I'm in love with! But i do like to get jewellery as a gift. I wanted to choose two piece for this post.
The first is the necklace my lovely mum bought me for my wedding, for as long as i can remember i wanted a single pearl necklace but always thought they were too expensive to just buy one. I was really happy when my mum gave me the money to buy this for my wedding day. I got it from earnest jones which is not a jewellers i go into usually as it seem, to me a least, quite expensive. I love the necklace but i only wear it on special occasions.

The second piece is my tatty devine name necklace that the hubby bought me along with the ring he got me at the same time. I feel conscious in expensive jewellery always touching it to make sure its still there and being in constant fear of it breaking so I'm much more at home it this type of jewellery, or primark stuff which i love. I love these pieces they are everything that i love, the ring is a cat and if i haven't said already i love them! and the necklace is my favourite colour and has a star on (me and the hubby have matching star tattoos)
Do you prefer to have a few expensive pieces of jewellery or lots of cheap cheerful suff or like me a mix of both?
Whats your favourite gift ?
XOXO

My lady date

On wednesday i met up with the lovely Lolly from lolly likes. Firstly i have to say i love her she is amazing and fun, check out her blog if you haven't before. We had decided to go to meadowhall to "window shop". That went out of the window and both our bank cards saw some action! We also had a lovely chat and some drinks, iced tea for me, i did attempt to try something new but backed out at the last minute (I'm so stuck in my ways!)
We went into new look and tried on some dresses one of which i almost got stuck in. I didn't end up buying any clothes from there but i did get a very nice briefcase style bag for £10 in the sale.

Then onto H&M who for a change actually have a few nice bits in their plus section, i bought some polkadot shorts they were real comfy and although separates are out of my comfort zone i really liked them.
The rest of the things were from primark shown below
All of these were £2 each

The headscarf was in the sale for £1 and the grips were also a £1

The shoes are a staple for me they don't let very long but they are only £5
The purse was £2.50 i love the heart clasp.
How cute is this bag?! lovely for the summer £7
These shoes were £6 and the ring £2

What do you think to my haul? i also bought a PJ onsie but more on that tomorrow.
Hope your enjoying your weekend
XOXO
