The Perfect Pin

As I'm sure you all know by now i love brooches and i have quite the collection! The lovely Sarah from Pookledo.com offered to send me something from her shop i had a look and lots of things jumped out at me but this hat pin style brooch claimed my heart.

The brooch came in a lovely secure box with one of Sarah's business postcards and a very sweet note , i met Sarah at the fat swap earlier this year and she is lovely :)

I really love this brooch because its so different to anything else i have! The heart shaped button in the centre is a really sweet touch too.

The brooch is very simple yet really beautiful, i really love handmade things because you can always see the time and effort someone has put it. I would like to say a very big thank you to Sarah for sending it to me :)

I have picked out a few pieces from Sarah's shop which i love and I'm sure you will too.

I think the colour of this brooch are really pretty and the needle felted fleecy makes it stand out. Available here.

This necklace is really simple and would look great with any outfit, available here.

There isn't another of my brooch on the site but this one is in the same style available here.
Take a look I'm sure you'll find something great too!

Mums Birthday

It was my Mums birthday recently so me and the hubby went over for a visit and to take her her presents. For her birthday i decided to do something a little different and make her up a gift hamper, i added some home made cookies and all the sweets and treats we used to enjoy together when i was younger. We had a lovely day and finished it off with a yummy chinese :)
Here's what i wore on the day

This dress is one that i picked up from the fat swap from the lovely Becky, i really love it. I believe it was original from asda and is a size 22, the fit for me is perfect!
The dress has a thick elasticated waist and is made from a lovely thin cotton, its sleeveless so perfect for the summer time.

P1013691

I love the print on this dress, i really like floral print and think the black background makes this print stand out really nicely.
I wore this with Primark tights and my Tesco cardigan, i added a handmade brooch and my new headband which was a gift from the lovely Lisa.

I thought i would share what my lovely hubby wore on the day, as the lady in paperchase commented, you can't go wrong with Micky.

Falling like Dominos

I have been stalking eBay like a woman possessed recently in search of the Beth Ditto domino dress from her collection a few years ago with Evans. I hadn't been able to find the right size, when i did the bids were so high i couldn't afford them or like a complete idiot i forgot that a listing was ending.
The lovely Rebecca came to my rescue and asked if i wanted to buy her dress that she had just won from eBay but didn't fit right, i didn't have to be asked twice and said yes straight away!

Ever since i saw Lolly in her domino dress i knew i needed it in my life she looked absolutely amazing! So another big thank you to Rebecca for thinking of me before selling the dress to someone else :)

P1013667

This dress is just perfect i love it so much ! There are no labels at all in the dress so i can't say what size it is but it seems to come up small from the reviews i've read so if you do spot one on eBay i think it may be best to size up.

P1013668

The dress is made from a jersey material with a stitched in lining which i think helps it to sit right. I could talk about this dress all day the sleeves, the length, the print its just amazing!
I wore this dress to Lolly's birthday lunch and it was really comfy to wear and make me feel great.

P1013661

The tights are from Primark ages ago as was the headscarf and i added a handmade brooch. The Little Mermaid is my favourite disney film and Ursula is one of my favourite characters so i made her into a brooch.

Fatshionologie

So what is Fatshionologie i hear you ask well..
Fatshionologie is a blogger style challenge born out of a discussion on twitter in the hopes it would help to create new exciting content for our blogs as well as show that each new style "theme' can be rocked by a variety of different body shapes!

So this months theme was festive, i did struggle a little with what to do as i have posted a christmasy outfit before here so used up most of my festiveness.
For this post i decided to go for a more dressed up look,i did try to find a christmas jumper to wear but i couldn't find any :(
So here is what i wore

P1013296

I went for a dress I've had for a while i bought it last year from Tesco for about £16. Its a really nice dress its a thick jersey material with stretch i got this in a size 22 and i love how it fits.

P1013298

I paired it with my Irregular choice christmassy heels, black tights and my Torrid faux fur trim cardigan. I got the cardigan last year when i was in Florida and i love it, its so cosy with the faux fur trim around the neck. I don't remember the price but i got it in a size 3.
The necklace I'm wearing i made myself using a christams decoration i found in my local Tesco

I thought i would also share with you my hubby in his Xmas jumper made by yours truly. He wanted a garish christmas jumper but when we went looking they were either only available in extra small or small or over £30. So i got some crafting bits together and my glue gun and off i went. He is wearing this on his last day at work before we have holidays for christmas, i hoping he will win best jumper on his team!

Plus size outfit day

It is that time again it's Plus size outfit day and the theme this month is "it's Christmas time". I really wasn't sure what to do for this months as we don't decorate the house or have a tree so i couldn't show you any of those things. I decided to show you the sort of thing i would wear on the day itself.
I'm lucky that the office i work in is closed for Christmas so i have 11 days off work, i plan to spend my time off relaxing with the Mr, watching films and obviously doing a bit of shopping!

So here is the outfit i chose, i wanted something that you could tell was for Christmas but that was also comfy and with some stretch. Because we all know with all that lovely food around on the day you need something with extra room :)

P1013249

I decided on this dress that i have had for a few years and my new cardigan, with my jewelled headband for that extra christmas sparkle.

P1013248

The cardigan is from Primark and was £14 i got it in the biggest size they do a 20 and it doesn't feel to small in fact the fit is really good. I wanted to get a Christmas jumper but couldn't find one and just when i had given up i spotted this cardigan. I really love the pattern at the top.

P1013251

The dress was is an old one from Dorothy Perkins in a size 20 it has stretch and it so comfy, It's the perfect dress to wear on Christmas day. It has pockets which will come in handy for a place for me to put all those Christmas chocolates!

P1013256

The headband I'm wearing is from Matalan and was £8 and the shoes are limited edition Irregular choice from a year  or so ago. I really love how the design goes over the two shoes on the scotty dog and his lead. I also added a homemade Christmas brooch, meet Mr polar bear.

P1013257

I felt this outfit was fitting for the Christmas theme without going over the top. I love it and hope you do too.

A crafting good time

I though it had been a while since you have a truly cheesy blog title, you know you love them :P
I buy quite a lot of costume jewellery especially rings and brooches and i recently decided to have a go at a bit of crafting and make some myself. I have quite a childlike taste in my accessories, all things animals, hello kitty and ponies go into my basket.
I thought i'd share with you a few of the things I've made recently. The brooch back and rings i got from ebay and the other bits from shops when I've been out and about.

Red bow brooch, Gingham reindeer brooch
and ring and felt reindeer face brooch

IMG_3732
All brooches, sunglasses, cat face, monster and pizza n chips

IMG_3730
Cat ring, teapot brooch, dog face ring, gingham heart brooch, cupcake ring

IMG_3731
All brooches, hello kitty old man character, hello kitty, my little pony
I really have fun making these and i think they brighten up my plain cardigans. I hope you like them too.
IMG_3733

Everything I've made so far has gone into this empty she said beauty box, they are great for storage! But i'll need another one soon as this one is nearly full.
Do you make any of your accessories i'd love to see them?

Summer swallows

I wore this to visit family on Sunday, its quite a summery outfit but it was nice and sunny out although a little chilly.

I decided to go with this dress it's very summery in fact its from the holiday section at Tesco but i loved the print so although i wasn't going on holiday at the time i still bought it.

P1012958

The dress is an extra large and fits me fine it was a little low cut at the front but i put my primark cami underneath and that solved the problem of potential flashing! The dress was £8 full price which is a great bargain! I wore if with my asda cardigan and primark pumps. Its always really warm in my nan's so this was great to keep me cool at her house.

P1012960

This dress will be great in the summer maybe with some little shorts underneath just so i don't flash my bum at anyone, i can't believe I've waited till now to wear it!

P1012962

I also wore this cute cat ring which is made from fuzzy felt it feels so nice, the ring was made by me.

P1012955

How is the week going for you all?

Bright blue

This is an outfit i wore to the lovely Rebecca's on Saturday night, me and the mr went along with Lollylikes and her mr too. We had a lovely dinner and as i knew i was eating i wanted something loose fitting. The dinner was gorgeous and there were 2 deserts now thats my kind of dinner!
I decide upon this Asos dress i've had it for a while in fact i've owned it twice. The first time i got it caught on a wing mirror and it ripped all down the side so i re bought it when it went back into stock in the sale. I think at the time i paid about £14 for it.

P1012946

I wore the dress with my Tesco leggings and blue primark pumps. I didn't want to wear too many accessories so i opted for this brooch which i made myself.

P1012948

The dress is a size 20 and fits fairly well but it could be a bit looser around the chest as you can see there is some gaping but there is some material behind the buttons so it doesn't flash anything.

P1012952
Not sure whats happening with the face here!

I really liked this outfit it was comfy and not too over the top. I liked the bright colour of the blue and i found the shoes in my shoe pile just as we were setting off they went really well.
Are you accident prone like me and end up buying the same thing twice?
XOXO
