Forgotten Floral

While looking through my wardrobe i discovered a few dresses that i have had for several months that have never been worn! They still have the tags on which is pretty bad as I've had them for so long. I decided to show you the first one today, which i got from Simply Be store opening in Manchester many months ago. I have no idea why I've not worn it, it just seems to get bypassed when I'm browsing my wardrobes.

P1015181

This dress is a size 24, i had to size up to get it to fit comfortably over my boobs, but it is a little big at the waist but nothing that a belt won't fix :)

P1015179

This dress is made from a sheer material with a slip underneath the main body of the dress but leaving the sleeves sheer which i love. This dress is really gorgeous and i love the vintage looking floral print. I think this dress would look fabulous with a pair of brown boots and now that i can get extra curvy plus from Simply Be i might have to invest in a pair.

P1015186

This dress is below the knee on me and now that i have re discovered it i think it will get a fair bit of wear over the winter months as it will be so easy to layer up. This dress did come with a belt but i couldn't find it so i added this brown one that i got from a previous fat swap.

I always feel so bad when i find clothes that have never seen the light of day. I need a wardrobe that  rotates all my clothes around and that brings the less worn pieces to the front!

A Vintage Twist

i was going through some photos last week and came across this outfit which I'd never posted so i decided to share it with you.
The dress you have seen before and i bought it from eBay for a bargain price but it was originally from Simply Be.
I decided to add some accessories that id bought from the vintage fair.

P1013238

The pearl necklace is my nans but the rabbit brook is from the vintage fair i went to last year in Sheffield. He is made from metal and a pearl for his face. I paid about £5 for him and he is one of my favourite brooches.

I also swapped the necklace out for some big faux pearl and gold earrings which i got from primark and  a super cute black handbag which i got from the vintage fair for £8 its in great condition so i thought tat was a bargain.

P1013223

I love this outfit I'm not sure why is got missed but i though it was too cute to waste. I hope you all have a great bank holiday whatever you are doing :)

Grandma chic

Today i turn 26 so what better to post today than a dress that wouldn't look out of pace in my nan's  wardrobe ;) I love vintage clothes but i really love pieces that i have or could have seen my nan wearing.
I actually wore this outfit yesterday to visit my nan and she commented on how nice it was. I'm sure this dress won't be to everyones taste but i love it !!

The dress came from eBay for the bargain price of £3.50, its a size 24 which is a little to big for me but it buttons all the way up without gaping so yey!

P1013538

The dress had a label in it for Changes i did a quick google search and it seems this is a brand offered by Marisota, it does seem to be aimed at the older end of the scale but that doesn't mean there won't be something you'll love. I sometimes find vintage dresses in my size and style hard to find and although this isn't vintage i think it does have a old feel to it, so it goes to show you can achieve a vintage style even if you can't find vintage in your size or style.

P1013541

The dress came with back ties but as its a bit too big for me so i added a belt from another dress. The material of the dress is quite thin which will be great for the summer and it has a lovely floral print on it.
I wore the dress with Primark shoes and headband and a brooch I've had for a while that was from ebay  like the dress.

P1013532

The hubby was looking very handsome so i had to take his picture too!

P1013549

I love this dress and i felt great in it, how do you feel about granny chic?

Fatshionologie

This is the second of the Fatshionologie post if you missed the first one or want to know what its all about then have a read here. Our theme this month is a bargain outfit, so something that cost under £15 or re working something from your existing wardrobe.

As you might know i went to my second fat swap on Saturday, it was amazing and i got some beautiful  clothes. So what better to choose as my bargain outfit that one that didn't cost me anything!
This dress was brought my the lovely Mel and I'm over the moon that she did, its so beautiful! I tried it on, looked in the mirror and fell in love (there may have been a happy dance too).

P1013461

The dress is so beautiful the top part is a sheer and velvet mix that feels so soft and the skirt part is beautifully pleated, unfortunately i couldn't get the camera to pick this up. Mel got the dress from Red Bows Boutique at the last Plus London, but it was too big for her so I'm the lucky lady that got to give it a new home. It will be loved and cherished and it will probably be taken out of the wardrobe just to be looked at because if you haven't guessed it already I'm in love!

P1013463

I wore the dress with my Asos pearl cat ears headband and my Irregular Choice scotty dog shoes which i have had for a years or so, i also added a belt which i got with another dress.

I love everything about this dress and I'm so thankful to Mel for bringing it so thank you again!
Now is time to see what the other lovely ladies are wearing check them out

New to me

This is the first ootd featuring something from the fat swap. I saw this as soon as a walked in and I'm not ashamed to say maybe i stalked it a little until those lovely words were shouted "start swapping". I really love the colour of this dress and that's what first drew my eye.

IMG_3207

As you can see i can't fasten the top of the dress but I'm all about making it work for me so i just put a cami from primark underneath. I really love the detail on the front of the dress, the way it ruffles over the front of the shoulders. The dress had just one label inside which is sears but no size so i can't tell you what size it is. The dress looks quite old although i'm no expert so i wouldn't like to say when it was originally sold.

IMG_3209

I love this dress and the fact i got it in return for something i no longer wore is great. I hope that someone is as happy with one of my dresses as i am with this.
I hope you have all had a great weekend what have you been doing?

Birds yard

Firstly how have i never been to or heard of this wondrous place before?! From the second i walked in i was in love it was like walking into Ariels cave in the little mermaid, so many treasures under one roof. I literally swooned when i walked in and the first thing i spotted was the smeg fridge it the kitchen area of the marvellous tea room on the ground floor. It is a vintage lovers dream, old fashioned sweets to buy, teacups, teapots and lots of other vintage pieces to buy. Heres a few pictures i took while i waited for my delicious toasted peanut butter and nutella sandwich to come.

How cute are these menus made from old books?!

The sandwich in question check out the sparkle!

how cute is the table set up?!

The main reason that i had gone to this magnificent place was to see the lovely Chloe from lifes big canvas and have a nosey around her shop which is great! Chloe sells amazing jewellery and there is something for everyone and every taste. I ended up buying a few things and the hubby bought me a present too.
Firstly here are a few pictures from Chloe's shop

Angie from the marvellous tea room and the lovely Chloe
in her shop. Look at that amazing dinosaur necklace!
Lots of amazing things here

Look I'm next to the glasses chains!
And here what i bought while i was there
A little fox bag
Dinosaur brooch

Chloe put this in as a free gift which was so nice of her

I got 2 new glasses chains a flamingo and another cat
This was my present from my hubby its the cookie monster
with his own jar a cookies
On the same floor as Chloe is Aurora Vintage which has some amazing pieces. They have both clothes and accessories, there was a number of bags that caught my attention! The shop is very well laid out with plenty of space to move about and some really creative ways of hanging stock. Here is the link to their ebay store and Facebook page.
There is also dora's gift box which sell some amazing toys including paper dress up dolls which brought back some lovely memories for me as my nan got me a few of these when i was younger. I think they make great gifts for young children and i really loved mine.
Now we go up another level where you can find blonde fury hair if your 'do is in need of some attention. As you know i have the hairdresser fear but i was at at ease straight away talking to Chloe she was very friendly and i got chance to see a cut she had just done and i must say it looked lovely.
Then there is the birds art room run by lovely cray fish who is an amazing artist and prints her designs onto bags, tshirts etc. There was a lovely aztec cat design that i spotted straight away, which I'm sure will be sold out in no time.
And finally there is bird shell a great place for more vintage, there was so many amazing pieces in there. There was also some hand made accessories including a ring made from an unused typewriter key. I spotted this while i was there and bought it straight away i love it. I mean who doesn't love a good bit of headwear?! It was made by Melissa Dawson who's shop can be found here

I really thought Birds Yard was an amazing place full of great people, shops and an amazing atmosphere. If you are in leeds then make sure you visit i assure you it is most defiantly worth the trip! Let me know if any of you go and what you think

Quick one

Just thought I'd do a quick post on my day. Hope your enjoying your weekend do you have any plans for the bank holiday?
Today I went into Leeds with the mr as it was free comic book day and he wanted to have a browse. Unfortunately there wasn't any comics left but he did find yet another mask to try on and bought me some Simons cat badges. If you haven't seen Simons cat have a look on you tube I love it.
I bought a lovely vintage dress for £10 I'm sure any plus size ladies reading will agree that vintage plus size is so hard to find. But I'm happy to say I managed to find this yellow dress with white and blue polka dots on yey!
After we'd finished we went to our favourite restaurant in town and I had a yummy steak and brownie for desert. I rarely take pictures of my food,I'm too busy tucking in! I did however restrain myself long enough to show you the cupcakes we got, cookies and creme and red velvet.
When we got back I finished cleaning my dressing room as I couldnt see the floor,(bad untidy Rachel) and tried on the two dresses I got from tesco on my lunch friday. Sorry for the mirror pictures the mr had gone for a nap so I had to take them myself.
Have you been up to much today ?
XOXO
