Simply Be Blogger Takeover

Last week i was lucky enough to be invited to the Simply Be blogger takeover day, i was really excited to go as i couldn't wait to see the bloggers dresses in real life!

When i arrived i spotted the ladies in their dresses and they all looked beautiful! You could tell that they were each wearing their own design and they looked perfect on them! They were all super friendly and it was lovely to meet them finally. Once everyone had arrived the ladies LaurenEm and Laura talked us through the design and ideas behind their dresses along with the process they went through from initial idea to the final piece.
It was great to hear that they were given a free reign to design something they would love and when i saw them in their dresses it was clear that they do love them!

I love all the dresses and i think there is something for everyone i cannot wait to get my hands on them! I really love the print of Lauren's dress, i mean who doesn't love ice cream?!

Throughout the day we got to look at some of the up coming collections and designs for Simply Be and we got a chance to hear about the whole process from the start of trends to the fit of garments and an insight into the production. It was really great to hear about it all and the Simply Be team were all very friendly and keen to get feedback.
I didn't take my camera but i had my phone so i did get a few snaps on my favourite up coming pieces,

I love this tapestry style dress its fab
and not as heavy as otters i have seen

Velvet shorts!

I love this leopard skater dress especially the
zip detail to the back

Super cute bird print!

The main item i fell in love with was a pair on denim shorts with a lace trim, as soon as i saw they had gone onto the website i added them to my basket and they are on the way to me now!

I now have so many things on my wish list! I can't wait till it all come out especially the bloggers dresses which i love so much!

I had a really great day and it was lovely to meet some ladies who i hadn't met before, everyone was really friendly so thank you to Simply be for the invite :)
If you haven't seen the youtube videos of the girls and their dresses then check them out below and if you want to get your hands on one they should be for sale on the 14th June.

Liquorice allsorts

From the first time i saw this dress on asos it reminded me of liquorice allsorts i think it's all the colours and stripes. I never actually got round to buying this dress but the lovely lolly likes did and she recently decided to part with it and was kind enough to give it to me :)
I wore this to the supermarket i didn't have anything exciting to do but i thought it was the perfect dress for a stroll around morrisons on a warm day. And seeing as i had it on of course i had to get a few pictures ( any excuse to pose i think!)

This dress is a size 26 but very stretchy I'm a 22 and it fits me fine i would guess if your a 24/26 it will be a more fitted snug dress and there is plenty of stretch for it to fit to your curves. As you can see it is fitted and shows off the belly so if your uncomfortable with this i wouldn't recommend it. I found the dress super comfy and it kept me cool, it will definitely be making more appearances in the warm weather.
I hope your all having a nice week, do you have any clothes that remind you of food?

Clements Ribeiro take 2

So today the Clements Ribeiro range went into Evans stores, i was lucky enough to be on a early shift at work today so my lovely hubby was kind enough to take me to the store to try on. I'm sure i have said this before but the staff at Evans meadowhall are the best bunch of ladies ever! They are so friendly, happy to see you and ready to see you strut your stuff in the changing rooms. I think nice staff in shops is important, they honestly make me feel like you've gone into a friends shop.
I would like to apologise for my messy hair it was straight from work and i was a little flustered.
So onto the pretties…
Firstly i tried on lace grace £95

IMG_3342

This dress is a size 22 i found the fit good but i did have to squeeze the skirt part over my bum ( i do however have a pretty sizeable booty so i don't think everyone will find this). Out of everything i tried on this was my least favourite but it's still a great dress. There are lots of different textures and its a very well made and well fitting but not really colourful enough for me.

Next is wisteria 21 £75

IMG_3332

This is a size 22 and maybe a little small over the tummy area. I really love the print of this dress and it was one of my favourites but i think i would size up to a 24. The material was very silky and soft and i love the lace details.

Next up mimosa print trousers £45 and top £45

IMG_3344

I wore the top tucked into the bottom as i'd seen Bethany rock on her blog. I really love this the print i great and the jersey fabric is so light weight, i tried the top in a 18 and the bottoms in a 20. I really wanted to buy these but i decided on the next two dress instead. I think I'm mourning the top and trousers as i type!

Next up celia £75

IMG_3336

This is a 22 and fits perfectly I'm so in love with the print and the lace cutouts on the shoulders are just perfect. The length on me is fab and can be worn with or without tight without me worrying about flashing. I have so much love for this dress.

Last but not least betty £75

IMG_3339

Again i tried this on in a 22. The dress is lined and feels quite thick which is perfect for the winter. I was drawn to this dress because of the gorgeous print and colours, i can see me getting lots of wear out of this.

So that was my after work adventure, i had intended just to go in to try on but i folded and my lovely hubby bought the two dresses for me he's the best!
Have you got anything from the collection yet or tried any pieces on ?

New to me

This is the first ootd featuring something from the fat swap. I saw this as soon as a walked in and I'm not ashamed to say maybe i stalked it a little until those lovely words were shouted "start swapping". I really love the colour of this dress and that's what first drew my eye.

IMG_3207

As you can see i can't fasten the top of the dress but I'm all about making it work for me so i just put a cami from primark underneath. I really love the detail on the front of the dress, the way it ruffles over the front of the shoulders. The dress had just one label inside which is sears but no size so i can't tell you what size it is. The dress looks quite old although i'm no expert so i wouldn't like to say when it was originally sold.

IMG_3209

I love this dress and the fact i got it in return for something i no longer wore is great. I hope that someone is as happy with one of my dresses as i am with this.
I hope you have all had a great weekend what have you been doing?

I'm a winner

A few weeks ago i opened up my email on my phone expecting the usual sales emails, twitter notifications etc when one popped up from the lovely people of Simply Be letting me know that i had won a dress of my choice for entering my details at plus north. I didn't win anything on the day so i was really happy i headed straight over to the site to choose a dress. I'd already decided that i was going to get something that was a little different from my usual choices, i spotted the shoe print dress first and that was hard to step away from! But then i saw this dress and i new that was the one i was going to choose.

The dress is Anna Scholz for simply be and is £68, i ordered my usual size 22 and crossed my fingers that it would be a perfect fit. I'm pleased to say that it was i genuinely love the dress and the fit and its still very me without being similar to anything else in my wardrobe. It has lovely gold sequined swallows on each side which i really like and the material is a lovely too.
I wore the dress out to dinner with my husband as we were celebrating his all clear, for another 9 months, from his cancer check up. Yey happy face :) We went to our favourite restaurant for steak and had a lovely evening.

I really love this dress so thank you so much to plus north and simply be for giving me the chance to win :) I felt really great in it and would definitely recommend this if you need a fancy black dress that stands out from the usual ones.
What do you think to my winnings?
have you been lucky enough to win anything recently?

To button or not to button

I bought this dress about a week and a half ago from tesco, me and the mr had just popped in to get a lottery ticket but i decided to have a quick look upstairs at the clothes section and came across this beauty! The fabric has a lovely vintage feel to it that really makes the dress.

It is made from 100% cotton and was £16 you can buy in on the website here. Its really lightweight and easy to wear, i wore mine to work on a not so sunny day last week.

Now i have quite the love affair with button down dresses, i love them but for some reason the boobs try to break free! As you can see in the top picture i can fasten the dress but the buttons do gape slightly and i always have a fear that a button will pop off at the most inconvenient of times. So i wore a white cami underneath and a few of the buttons undone and i love how it looks.
The dress is lovely and light and would be great with bare legs but it wasn't the best day when i wore this so i wore black tights. The sleeves on the dress are elasticated but not tight so they stay nicely in place and there is a buttoned pocket on the chest which is a detail i really like.
If you haven't already take a look at my previous post abut tesco's true range and leave your comments they really are appreciated.
What have you been buying?

How much is that doggie in the window?

I though i'd do a nice cheesy title for today,  promise no more for a while. This particular doggie print dress was £15 from primark. I got a size 20 and it fits but it's a little tight over the bust, unlike the other dresses i bought recently, but i couldn't not have it as i fell in love with the print.

I really wish primark would do some larger sizes do they not realise the money they miss out on?! The dress itself has an under dress with a mesh overlay with the print on. It does have some stretch which is why i can fit my size 22ish frame into the 20. I have worn this to work and it was really comfortable but maybe a little short. I got some snaps of me wearing it here as soon as i got home from shopping as i didn't try it on in the shop so i needed to check it fit.
Warning there are some seriously white milk bottle legs coming up!

I hope your week is going well i'm really looking forward to my first full weekend off in 3 weeks.
Thank you all for taking the time to read and follow :)
XOXO

Sunday cinema

I though i'd show you the outfit i wore on sunday to go to the cinema to watch Batman. I went with my hubby who, lets say was much more excited than me to see it. The film was actually very good but it's a long one and after 2 hours my bum had well and truly fallen asleep! I needed to wear something light weight and comfy so i wore this dress.

This is the 'Frida' dress by Clements Ribeiro for evans i got it in the sale for £20 and if i remember correctly it was £55 full price so it was a great price. This dress came with the fabric belt that i wore and a black patent one which I'm wearing here. This dress is long enough to wear with bare legs but it was a little chilly when we set off for the cinema at 9am, yes that early!
I also wore my headscarf from primark as my hair was not looking its best and of course i love head scarfs!

While i was out i went into primark and picked up the french bulldog print dress i had to had it i love the print. Luckily they had a 20 left here's a sneak of the material but i'll be posting the dress later in the week.

How was your weekend did you do anything nice?
XOXO
